The Thinker uses Google Analytics to collect anonymous information when people visit the site. This is because Google makes very interesting graphs out of all the raw stats. If you don't want your browsing included, have a look at Google's opt-out information.

If you choose to create a user account at the-thinker.org, you can upload a picture to display next to any comments you post. That tiny picture is just about the only perk of creating an account on this website. If you do decide to add a picture, please imagine your mother is closely watching you while you select it.

To create an account, you need to let The Thinker know your email address. If you forget your password at some time in the future, you can ask for a fresh log-in link to be emailed to you. That's all the email address is for. Nobody else will see it. Not even The Thinker, because it's saved deep in a database somewhere.

Any comments you add to this website are silently and efficiently checked for spam before they appear, by a team of tireless robots working with a company called Mollom. You can find out more about that at Mollom's page on web service privacy.
