Coach - Brad Fittler
* note: team line-ups are subject to considerable change, but will be updated as news filters through.
NSW Coach Brad Fittler is on the verge of achieving a 3-0 Origin series victory as a coach. He did so as a player way back in 2000 and there aren't many people who can claim both achievements. NSW haven't had a 3-0 series victory since 2000, and even this great Queensland dynasty of recent years has achieved a clean sweep just once (2010). They don't happen often, and even less often in recent years. NSW have the team to win game three, but do they have the desire? They need to lift in front of a mostly QLD crowd. The series is over, and there are no NSW legends retiring from Origin at the end of this game for the Blues to rally around. All they have is the desire to win 3-0. I'm sure they would like to, but how much would they like to? Queensland have been stung by the loss, and they haven't had to feel that sting too often. It hurts, but they have an opportunity to end the series on a high note. They are also seeing out one of the all time greats of the game in Billy Slater. He may not be everyone's favourite player, but he is a favourite for many. He has given the game of rugby league plenty, and I think he has (almost single-handedly) changed the way the rugby league fullback plays the game. That, above and beyond all else, if his true legacy. Queensland won't be lifting the trophy on Wednesday night, but they will lift...and they will win.
Verdict – Queensland 26 to NSW 18
First try scorer – Corey Oates
Man of the Match – Josh McGuire

Interesting that NSW has won every under 20s till tonight but have lost 11 out of 13 A grade series

Crying out loud. Damn stupid Maloney see the winger up, kick in behind him.

Cmon Queensland put another one on your side. We’ll play 12 on 14 if you want it to be fair.
Submitted by Coach Potato on
Dumb play to go for two points Qld when Maloney went off. Gave up field position for the sake of two points.

All’s quiet in the lounge here bags. Fire’s goin’ well. Pass us one of them xxxx there. (Clink) Cheers to a good half of footy.

QLD without Hunt 8-0 after 32 minutes.
QLD with Hunt against 12 men ... 0-12 after 8 minutes
Submitted by Coach Potato on
Shit there’s not many people to agree with.
Half time, so pretty poor excuse to use the “I was watching the game” one.
Submitted by Coach Potato on
100% agree there Thinker
Submitted by Coach Potato on
Boy what a game. Cheers Qld
Submitted by Coach Potato on
Cheers mark. Well done.
One of great Origins you may or may not agree.
Origin IV next week at Subcorp is bigger stakes though.

So glad QLD won
Submitted by Coach Potato on
I agree 100%, Rocket. We may never win another Origin game.
Submitted by Coach Potato on
I agree 100%, a.
I’m so glad the series score was NSW 2 - QLD 1.

GO QLD, ye ha
Submitted by Coach Potato on
Give him a break he can’t put two sentences together. Now you making him do that twice !?

One hell of a match = great result for Billy Slater's farewell from Origin.
Submitted by Coach Potato on
Any plaudits for the Origin 2018 winners from the fairest site in the land?
Submitted by Tailspin on
Unlucky not to win the series, but good to see Billy go out on a high.
Submitted by Coach Potato on
Alfie, he was champing at the bit to make his fairytale comeback.
Maybe next year.
Submitted by Baggy_Gee on
More importantly Thinker James Malone off the field NSW scored 12 points.

To all NSW supporters - congratulations on the effort and win that your team achieved. You certainly have some extremely talented young players coming on now.
As a Qld supporter, I'm really glad though, that your team was unable to achieve a whitewash tonight.
Submitted by Baggy_Gee on
We have the shield, nothing else to point out Coach. Even Ryan can't debate the fact that we won the series.
Submitted by Coach Potato on
Yes 100% agree Tailspin, they would had to play an extra two games and Qld win both of them to pass the NSW tally but yes, bad luck.
Submitted by Rocket Ryan on
Blues get the shield a light or two left on by the looks of it at Suncorp Boyd Cordner left there standing in pouring rain enjoy your win you have to say that would leave him a little like the Panthers trophy cabinet empty
Submitted by Coach Potato on
100% agree bags, but I’m aware that no acknowledgement tells you the real story about this page.
Submitted by Coach Potato on
Yeah let’s turn the lights out for the presentation. We love that show of petulence, lighting staff. Love it.
Submitted by Coach Potato on
Classy comment Mary S.
Pretty poor from the rest of the State.
Submitted by Coach Potato on
What Tariq? You say you got thrown in at the deep end in the forwards?!! Where the hell did you think you were going to be playing? Bloody goose.
Submitted by Coach Potato on
How much did Slater dominate games 1 and 2 to get player of the series ?
He didn’t even play game 1.
So he must have dominated game 2 then.
Submitted by Mary S on
I'm a classy lady Coach.
I'm sure you will agree with me 100%!!
I give credit were credit is due, and always try to be fair.
Submitted by Coach Potato on
Greenberg drinking with the Qlders. Tells it’s own story.
Submitted by Coach Potato on
Shit. Walters congratulates the Blues. Concedes they were the better team over the series.
100% agree with you, Kevvie.
Submitted by Coach Potato on
I always got taught to shake hands after the game and say ‘well done’ if you lost.
Overwhelmingly they don’t teach that in Qld.
Submitted by Baggy_Gee on
Greenberg would struggle to know which end to drink from. He's as sharp as a well sucked gumball.
Submitted by The Thinker on
I'm trying to find the footage of QLD captain Billy Slater walking off and directing his team-mates to do the same while Boyd Cordnor thanks his opposition.
Can't find it anyway. Perhaps he didn't graduate from the Paul Gallen School of Diplomacy after all.
Submitted by Coach Potato on
Hi Thinker, we don’t need the footage if everyone knows the Qld losing protocol already.
Submitted by Coach Potato on
There’s more than enough footage on this page.
Only interested in saying how good they were to win game 3.
Still unsure which school you are from?
Submitted by Mary S on
Perhaps Qld took a leaf out of NSW book coach, when NSW walked off during the 2016 presentation
Submitted by Coach Potato on
Not about congratulating me at all just so there’s no confusion.
Is about congratulating the NSW team, ie the winners of Origin 2018.
Submitted by Coach Potato on
mirrroring bad behaviour doesn’t make it acceptable.
Submitted by Mary S on
Agreed 100% Coach.
