Round four selections

Sydney Roosters vs Brisbane Broncos – Thursday night – Sydney Cricket Ground

The Broncos engine room under-performed against an under-strength but enthusiastic Dragons pack, and Anthony Siebold didn't spare the French with his post-match spray. You would expect them to respond, particularly with Matt Lodge returning from suspension. The Chooks have named Cronk, Friend and Waerea-Hargreaves. Who really knows if any or all of them are on the park, but if they do play there's some risk they can't finish the game. That might be a bigger risk than resting them, as Keary, Radley and Taukeiaho have all shown they can step up and adapt as required. The Broncos performed about as poorly as they could last week, and still only lost by a point in the last play of the game. They're outsiders at the SCG, as they should be, but I think they can bounce back. Plenty of eyes will be on Pangai Jnr as he faces the team that's made a play for his services.

Verdict – Broncos by 4

Result – Roosters 36 defeated Broncos 4

New Zealand Warriors vs Gold Coast Titans – Friday night – Mt Smart Stadium

The season is barely underway but these two teams would already be feeling the pressure – the Titans remain winless while the Warriors have a solitary win over the under-performing Bulldogs. There is some talk that Ash Taylor may play but I'll believe it when I see it – as things stand the Titans are lacking the spine to make the most of whatever attacking opportunities arise. Without a whiff of confidence I'm with the Warriors, who are a far better side at Mt Smart than anywhere else.

Verdict – Warriors by 2

Result – Warriors 26 defeated Titans 10

Penrith Panthers vs Wests Tigers – Friday night – Panthers Stadium

Phil Gould is 8 years into his 5 year plan to make the Penrith Panthers a powerhouse in the NRL. During those 8 years they have finished in the top four once (in 2014) and made the preliminary finals once (again in 2014). They've lost about $30 million in the process, and haven't got an ounce of silverware to show for it. Given the money that's been spent, the people involved and the enormous catchment of junior talent they can draw upon it's hard to call the plan a success. Despite that Phil Gould is still there, and he's got the coach he (might have) always wanted, even though he turfed him not so long ago. Said coach faces his former club on Friday night, but I have no idea if said Phil Gould will call the game (probably not). Even though I've spent the last ten minutes mocking them, I'm tipping the Panthers on Friday night. The Tigers have a shorter turnaround to prepare, and we've seen time and again teams bounce off a poor performance. The Tigers were poor last weekend too, but that Panthers loss to the Storm in round three couldn't be much poorer. Pretty strange way to find a winner – the Panthers were worse than the Tigers so I'll tip the Panthers. It's a funny game rugby league.

Verdict – Panthers by 4

Result – Panthers 9 defeated Tigers 8

Manly Sea Eagles vs South Sydney Rabbitohs – Saturday afternoon – Lottoland

Tom Trbojevic is just one man...but he's quite the man. We all wondered how much difference his inclusion would make to the Manly Sea Eagles. The answer is clearly lots, but the fact that the win was over a disappointing Warriors outfit muddies the waters a little. This Saturday should give us a clearer indication. They also return to their spiritual sandpit – let's all hope that we don't lose a Trbojevic or an Inglis down a Brookvale sinkhole. The Rabbitohs remain undefeated and I see no reason to drop off them yet, particularly with the inclusion of yet another Burgess brother (George) this weekend. Potentially the game of the round.

Verdict – Rabbitohs by 4

Result – Sea Eagles 13 defeated Rabbitohs 12

North Queensland Cowboys vs Canberra Raiders – Saturday afternoon – 1300SMILES Stadium

The Raiders have conceded 32 points through three games this season, and 22 of those points were against the unbeaten Storm. Meanwhile the Cowboys have conceded 83 points, and each week they are conceding more points than they did the week before. It's a worrying trend, and I can't have them until I see signs of improvement.

Verdict – Raiders by 4

Result – Raiders 30 defeated Cowboys 12

Parramatta Eels vs Cronulla Sharks – Saturday night – ANZ Stadium

The Eels have struggled ever since Semi Radradra was lured away by a giant novelty cheque and a simpler, lazier life playing provincial rugby in France. It's rare that a winger can make such a difference to a side, but he was a unique and rare talent. While the recruitment of Blake Ferguson raised some eyebrows at the time, you'd have to say that, thus far, it's been a runaway success. In many ways he gives the Eels what Radradra used to do. Maiko Sivo, on the other wing, looks a prospect too. Two good wingers won't usually beat a team like the Cronulla Sharks, but with Moylan unavailable, Gallen unlikely and a question mark on the fitness of Fifita, I'm with the Eels to return to the winners circle.

Verdict – Eels by 4

Result – Eels 24 defeated Sharks 12

Melbourne Storm vs Canterbury Bulldogs – Sunday afternoon – AAMI Park

The Bulldogs got on the board last weekend with a surprise win over the Tigers. This weekend they face the toughest road trip in the NRL. That Bulldogs spine of Meaney, Cogger, Lewis and Marshall-King looks very inexperienced for such a challenge.

Verdict – Storm by 16

Result – Storm 18 defeated Bulldogs 16

Newcastle Knights vs St George Illawarra Dragons – Sunday night – McDonald Jones Stadium

Kalyn Ponga, perhaps not the next Darren Lockyer, has been moved back into the fullback role this weekend. No doubt he'll appreciate the extra wiggle room and a lighter defensive workload. Mitchell Pearce might respond positively too, knowing that he is very much responsible for most of the decision-making in attack. The Dragons were solid in their first win of the year over the Broncos last Thursday but, as mentioned earlier, the Broncos were pretty awful. The Knights may have only won one game this year, but have conceded just 41 points through three games. That tells me their defence is in order, and I'm thinkering that their attack will improve with Ponga at fullback.

Verdict – Knights by 4

Result – Dragons 13 defeated Knights 12

Greetings tipsters

I have updated the tipping comp after round three. As always it's tough going in the early rounds (if you were a punter and just backed the outsiders in rounds 1 through 5 you'd do well for yourself).

Most of us got 4 or 5 in round three, with BigPeteBX and Taka top scoring with six.

A special shout out to Taka, because he usually tips the Bulldogs, and in round three he didn't and they won. Despite that, he still got six from eight.

I'll have my previews and tips published tomorrow, and I'll have Wally's tips published on Wednesday night.

If anyone thinks I've made any errors with the collating of results let me know and I will check it out and resolve.

All the best

Yes Thinker I regret not tipping my dogs. Ahaha....

George Burgess returning to the bunnies not Tom btw :D

Baggy_Gee's picture

So what your saying Thinker, is that on Friday night one way or the other we are getting a dead cat bounce.

The Thinker's picture

kSum

Are you sure? How would we know? (I have updated...thank you)

Baggy

Either way they look like dead cats to me...for this season at least.

DarK-HorsE's picture

Thinker I think u should of waited till the team list for your predictions
Your prediction and team list are not the same ATM

Specially sharks Roosters and Titans

The Butcher's picture

While we’re all on to the thinker
I’m loving your site but it reminds me of Movieworld where you just want to walk out the door but have to go thru the gift shop to get out and you change your mind and end up buying something.
The same with putting on your tips on your site you’ve made up your mind and go to put them on...but then..... just like the gift shop you have to get pass your very persuasive comments and it puts you in 2 minds on the games we have different
Pointless I know but I thought I’d mention it.

Baggy_Gee's picture

I don't know what is happening there, last year if you got a start on them they would fire back. But this year they seem very lackluster, flat, and dare I say it disinterested.

The Thinker's picture

DarK-HorsE

Sadly I don't have the luxury of waiting too long to get my tips out. With that in mind, its always worth keeping an eye out for team changes...and when there are potentially very important team changes I try to mention them in my previews.

It's also worth noting that "Official team lists" are still subject to change...that's why teams name a starting thirteen, a four man interchange and four reserves.

mark ashford's picture

Hi Guys
As Thinker has said he needs to get his previews and predictions up fairly early. It's up to us punters to follow team lists, late exclusions and late inclusions and decide if it makes a difference. I'm sure there are times Thinker would like to change his tips but he sticks as any leader should.
Jimmy the jet is an out for the Broncs, ham string niggling. Lodge is a starter and should add some starch up front.
Not sure of the final Roosters line up but should be a cracker of a game.
TPJ has been touted as a $million dollar man. Will he turn up?
Absolutely must, either for the Broncs or to impress his (maybe) next club. Either way Broncs to win.

Baggy_Gee's picture

"Kittyhawk" Roberts being out is a bonus for the Broncos. Better team cohesion. Still think the Roosters will get up, some of those Radlee runs from hooker were pretty fast and incisive. Same as Roberts being out, if they keep JWH and Cronk out then it puts 2 healthy men on the bench not 2 half fit men. Roosters by 16.

The Thinker's picture

Radley at hooker actually adds more speed around the ruck for the Chooks...he's a gun. That said, it weakens the tricolours backrow....so swings and roundabouts.

Dragons-fanboy's picture

Hello everyone, my tips for this week are:

Roosters by 10 - Roosters to continue on their merry ways here with a win over the Broncos. The Roosters so far have been reminding me of the way they started in 2018; still some ill-discipline there and still making plenty of errors. Though their consistency have perhaps improved and they have shown a touch more class this season to start off with compared to their start in 2018. The Broncos need a much better performance this week and perhaps they will especially after that spray that Seibold gave them. But unfortunately for them, I just don't think they will do that well enough to get a victory this week. Both of these teams need to send a message to the whole competition, showing their full potential and I feel that it's the Roosters who will do that. Really looking forward to that forwards battle.

Titans by 6 - The Titans to get the upset of the round for me in this one. Look I know I absolutely bashed the Titans last week but you know what, they performed way better than I thought that they would. And considering a lot of the winless teams after 2 rounds got their first wins in rd 3, I feel that it's the Titans' turn to do that this week. It won't be easy though, coming up against a different looking Warriors lineup to what we've been seeing with some changes being made in some key positions. At Mt Smart as well where the Warriors play at their best usually who would also be looking to bounce back this week. With Ash Taylor and Roberts back in the halves, I feel that the Titans' attack will be more stable than it has been in the first few rounds, I mean there attack was pretty good last round. I feel that the Titans need to cut there errors down as well if they are going to win this. I'm backing them this week to do that or at least improve on that this week. But the Warriors, I don't know, they are either going to show up and put on a fantastic performance like round 1 or they are going to not perform like rounds 2 and 3. To me, it's swaying towards the second option although it won't be as bad I don't think.

Panthers by 8 - Both of these sides need to show a much improved performance this week. Panthers back at their actual home to get the bounce back win here in the battle of the cats and a cracking one at that. I', expecting plenty of points in this one.

Rabbitohs by 7 - This should be an interesting one. Manly flying high after their brilliant win last week against a classy undefeated Rabbitohs side. With the experience of Inglis back and some added firepower to the pack with George Burgess back, the Rabbitohs' class will shine through in what should be a really entertaining game of footy.

Raiders by 4 - The Cowboys did not look convincing at all without Taumalolo. It'll be interesting to see what happens in terms of the Cowboys this season with Taumalolo out for a portion of the season. If they keep last week up, this may be a long season yet again for the Cowboys. The Raiders on the other hand have been flying under the radar if you ask me, two wins, one loss coming up against an undefeated Storm outfit who've been sensational to start off the season. So to me, the Raiders have had a really good start to the season and I think that'll continue with a win over the Cowboys. I've got to say though, the Raiders better acclimatise quick playing up in Townsville lol.

Sharks by 1 - This one is going to golden point I reckon. And if it gets to that stage, the Sharks have the more experience in the halves to win the game. Should be an absolute blinder, excited to see young Bronson Xerri going to make his debut. Only 18 years of age, making him the youngest NRL player to play first grade at the moment when he makes that debut. Eels have been great and were tough in their loss last week but I just feel that the experience in the spine that the Sharks have over the Eels will be enough, especially if it gets to golden point.

Storm by 20 - Bulldogs were great last week. But still some changes made to the side. And looking at the lineups and form alone, the Storm have this one in the bag, comfortably.

And finally... Dragons by 12 - Yes I am back on the bandwagon this week. After tipping against my beloved Dragons last week, I decided to not make that same mistake again. Will the Dragons' record against the Knights keep in tact? I think so. Widdop is a huge blow, but I think of it as an advantage in a way that our spine is more stable now with no switch needed whatsoever. And the good news as well with that is that they will have time to gel. Only thing now is lack of leadership which may cost us, especially in the bigger games against the tougher sides. No disrespect to the Knights, who are a great team, but I think with the Dragons' attacking flow back and the depleted forward side who looked good against the Broncos in good form, I feel that that'll continue but it won't be easy coming up against a game Knights surely after currently a 2 game losing streak and with Ponga back at fullback, the defence of the Knights will perhaps look better than it has been and the Knights have only conceded 41 points in the first three games, imagine how the Knights' defence will be now that Ponga will be much more comfortable in defence not having to do much of it and will be showing more of his dangerous attack floating from the back rather than his organising. We'll see what happens, but I'm backing my boys to get the job done.

Awesome. Good luck with everyone's teams for this week and with everyone's tips for this week. Cheers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Baggy
You may not like Roberts but he does have a good strike rate for the Broncs. How many games this year and last has he failed to score.
Like other speedsters he needs to get the ball in open space and rarely disappoints.
Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't it this round last year when the Broncs towled up the Roosters.

a's picture

As mark said the Thinker needs to do what a leader does and its up to us to look for late changes

Mary S's picture

Round 4 last year Mark, Titans (26) defeated Broncos (14) at Suncorp, breaking an 11 year drought.

Warriors (30) defeated Roosters (6) in the same round!!

Makes you wonder!

Mary S's picture

Hi Mark,
When I got involved in NRL tipping a few years ago, in a sport I new absolutely nothing about, I made up a spreadsheet with all the matches for the season, under the round being played, and the date.

I would underline the team I was going to select, then mark the result at the end. The line would be highlighted if I got it right - with mixed results as is still the case!!

Seems like a lot of work, but I enjoyed it and part of the learning experience to see if patterns showed.

As I still have these on my NRL memory stick, I found the following:
ROUND 4 RESULT 29/3 - 2/4/18
Cowboys v Panthers 14 to 33
Rabbitohs v Bulldogs 20 to 16
Sharks v Storm 14 to 4
Roosters v Warriors 6 to 30
Sea Eagles v Raiders 32 to 16
Dragons v Knights 30 to 12
Broncos v Titans 14 to 26
Wests Tigers v Eels 30 to 20

From the record I have, it would seem that Broncos & Roosters played in R 11 last year, where Broncos won 28/23522

Mary S's picture

Well that was a "boo boo" - Broncos won 28/22 in R 11 last year!

NuL1F3's picture

Not in the least bit confident,
Roosters
Warriors
Tigers
Rabbitohs
Cowboys (If they can turn things around this game, things will be looking brighter for sure, however, I am expecting a Raiders win here)
Eels
Storm
Dragons
Good luck!

BigPeteBx's picture

Good afternoon Drago F/Boy - hows things been going?
You might like to have a look at your selections and in particular the post on Rabbitohs x 7pts.
I wish Manly was undefeated, however they're not Souths.
I thought, I'd like to have one of what you've been consuming. Maybe J. Awesome and I might do that for you, this Saturday.
You just never know when Sea Eagles are on a roll. I'll be tipping them by four at Lottoland/Brookie.

Keep well Old Son - Big Pete

BigPeteBx's picture

Hello Mary.
Gee that was a good spreadsheeting exercise to do.
I do similar with NRL, EPL and A-League, but instead I print off the yearly draw and then mark the match squares. If I win, it is a tick - a loss is an x.
Keep that creativeness going, as this site is better for it all, that comes along.
Keep well - Big Pete

The Thinker's picture

No worries DarK-HorsE....thanks for the support and the suggestion.

Unfortunately I get a bit busy on Wednesdays with other things which makes it a bit tricky regardless.

All the best

mark ashford's picture

Mary S
Thanks for that clarification. Knew they beat the Chooks at some stage but thought it was earlier. 28/22 hardly a toweling but a win is a win.
Has anyone heard what is happening with Jake Friend, Jared W Hargreaves or Cooper Cronk?

Baggy_Gee's picture

Well my Daughters are level pegging with me, they got 5/8 last week, putting them on 14/24 same as I have. I might have to hand back in my membership if 2 girls under 10 can beat me. For those waiting on their tips here they are.
Broncos (because they are our favorite team)
Titans (because the Warriors have that weird face)
Panthers (I like the colour black)
Rabbitohs (because white and black go together, and I picked the Panthers)
Raiders (because they are green)
Eels (because they are Dads favorite team, Wouldn't pick them last week would they?)
Storm (Because they make blackouts)
Dragons (Knights defeat Dragons, But Dragons eat Knights)

My daughter is 26 and currently planning her next overseas trip with her Pommie boyfriend (he has to leave as his visa is about to run out.)
She has zero interest in Rugby League and I wonder where I went wrong. Keep those girls tipping and keep up the interest.
Tell them Mark A loves their support of the Broncs and wishes them well with their tips.

a's picture

Heres my tips ‘

Roosters by 4 I think the Roosters will be to good against the Broncos

Titans. By 2 I have no idea who to pick here ehh I will go the Titans because they showed some improvement

Panthers by 2 If Benji Marshall was playing I would of tipped the Tigers but he’s not so Panthers for me

Rabbitohs by 10 Manly will have to convince me they can beat good oppressions before I can tip them

Cowboys by 1 I can only hope right

Eels by 2 I think Sharks injury problems will be to massive for them

Storm by 24 no expiration needed here

Knights by 1 I think with Ponga getting back. To. Fullback will help the Knights

Mary S's picture

FYI everyone,
Temps in Townsville currently 22-25 minimum, 29-32 max and relatively humid.
Temp would still be approx 26 -29 at 4.30pm when the Cowboys/Raiders match is on this weekend.

As the Raiders are coming from a rather cooler climate at present, it will be interesting as how quickly the humidity has an effect!

Cheers to all,
Mary

Dragons-fanboy's picture

Mary S,
Something that I found out of this is that Dragons-Knights is the only game in round 4 that was played in round 4 last season. And guess what day they played last season? A Sunday just like this season. Only differences are the grounds, different home team and this year it will be an evening game whilst last year it was an afternoon game.

Dragons-fanboy's picture

Big Pete,

Things are going okay. I hope you are well yourself. Perhaps a misunderstanding or maybe I should've wrote something different rather than Manly ate flying high considering they only got there first win. Yes you are right, Manly are no Rabbitohs but hey, Titans are no Rabbitohs yet they got close last week. And plus, it is still that early round fever where at best for most teams, we only have a bit of an idea of how they are travelling so perhaps should not've wrote that Manly are flying high as it made it seem like they're on the same level as the Bunnies. Hope this clears it up. Though I do feel that this will be an interesting game. Like you said you never know when Manly are on a roll, though coming up against an awful Warriors side, they still played some good footy and showed some signs of what could possibly be for them. Even though I don't think so personally. This is where the 7 point margin comes in. Though now thinking about it, I may actually reconsider that margin lol.

Cheers!!!!!

Dragons-fanboy's picture

Big Pete,

Well actually the things that made me put the margin at 7 for the Manly-Souths game were the margin in which the Manly beat the Warriors by and how no one expected that yet it happened, the Rabbitohs although still got the win didn't get it in the convincing and emphatic way that was expected. Plus, the unpredictability as well that we have been seeing is why I believed that it would be a closer game than what many are probably expecting, hence why I picked the Rabbitohs by 7.

Cheers!!!

newbie from perth's picture

Sa-wat-dee krup,

I saw a “nice” video on the NRL website this morning where young Xerri was told he’s making his NRL debut Saturday night for the Sharks. If you haven’t seen it, check it out. Hope he does well.

Anyone into time travel? If so, let’s meet up at Icebergs in Bondi 2 Sundays ago. We can sit out on the deck and have some breakfast. I’ll be the one in the Roosters beanie…

Roosters vs Broncos 60-40 @ SCG
Thankfully my BBB bounced back last week. For most of that game I was not feeling confident at all. Thank god for Taukeiaho and Tedesco. If we can keep improving and the “big guns” keep firing, we should be good in this one. Welcome back Cooper! How did the Broncos play so poorly last week? Well, in my mind they did. We might be returning to the days when the Broncos were good one week and rubbish the next. If so, how do you read previous game form into your calculations? Taking nothing away from the Dragons, I don’t think that was one of the Broncos’ better performances. I think on balance, the better team won, albeit with a FG. Just my luck if the Broncos roll up and get their “thang” happening again. Roosters for me (obviously). Begurk! Begurk!

Warriors vs Titans 55-45 @ Mt Smart Stadium
Worrying times for the Warriors. They really need to step up. If not they’ll be stepping backwards. They’ve not been too impressive of late and need to improve their defence significantly. OK, the poor ol’ Titans haven’t won a game yet but I’m giving them a chance here, especially after their second half effort last week against the Bunnies. Yes they have some players out injured but I still give them a chance. Should I go out on a limb and against my ratings and tip them? Yes I will. Titans for me.

Panthers vs Tigers 45-55 @ Panthers Stadium
If the Panthers repeat what they did last week then they’re in trouble. Not enough “basic footy” can and will lose you games. Couldn’t believe I was watching the same Tigers that have started so well this year cough up the points against those Doggies last week. Pretty sure they’ll be keen to address their lacklustre effort. Maybe the “spray” I saw Michael Maguire giving them in the sheds after the game will get them to focus a bit more. This will most probably be tight but I’ll tip the Tigers to just get up in this one.

Manly vs Rabbitohs 40-60 @ Brookvale
Hurrah! Manly got their first win of the season and “Turbo” may or may not have been the catalyst for their win. As well as they played last week, beating the Bunnies is a completely different ball game. The Rabbitohs were expected to win last week and they did. But not before those Titans gave them a bit of a touch up in the second half. GI Joe is back (or so they say) along with George Burgess Esq. If they can keep their mind on the job, the Bunnies should win this fairly comfortably.

Cowboys vs Raiders 40-60 @ 1300Smiles
Don’t know what to think of the Cowboys at the moment. Find it hard to fathom that a missing Jason Taumalolo has such an effect on their performance. Or am I simply imagining things. Unless they can fix the defence aspect of their game, I’ve got a feeling they’ll have a devil of a job keeping the Green Machine out. Saw some footage of the Raiders in action last week and they don’t look too bad. Their “new signings” seem to doing the trick. Do what they did last week and they’ve got this one in the bag. Still haven’t made up my mind on the Cowboys yet but I’m tipping the Raiders anyway.

Eels vs Sharks 40-60 @ ANZ
The Eels have been playing pretty good footy so far and have racked up wins against the Panthers and Bulldogs. They were right in it last week against my BBB but fell short in the last 15-20 minutes which ultimately cost them. For large patches of that game they were very impressive. The Sharks have been plugging away too and their 2 wins so far have been against the Titans and the Cowboys. Their win last week was impressive, especially given the fact they had lost the Cry Baby and Moylan to injury. As I am apt to do sometimes, I’m basing the pick here on previous formlines as I see it and for the fact that a youngster I’ve already mentioned in my intro is making his debut and it’d be nice if his first game was in a winning side. I’d love to tip Baggy’s BOYS but it’s the Sharks for me.

Storm vs Bulldogs 75-25 @ AAMI
This one will be short’n’sweet. Before I go any further though, just wanna say I was uber impressed with Kieran Foran’s game last week and it’s a real shame he’ll be out for 3 months (so they’re saying) with his ankle injury. A real shame. Anyway, moving on… As good as the Bulldogs were last week, with no Foran and up against a red-hot Storm outfit in Melbourne, I’m not giving the Doggies much hope here. The Storm for me.

Knights vs Dragons 45-55 @ McDonald Jones
The Knights aren’t really getting me excited to be honest. At least Ponga’s been moved back to fullback. That might help. It will also help if they can bring the missed tackles count down too. Really enjoyed watching the Dragons playing the Broncos last week and getting up against the odds. Well, against the odds in my opinion at least. They played a mighty game and did most things right. Very impressed. Replicate that and they too will get up, even without Widdop. Some pundits are calling this one as a very close affair. My ratings seem to indicate that too. I’m gonna go out on a limb here and tip the Dragons by at least 8, maybe more. Let’s see if I’m deluded or a (lucky) genius.

Let’s finish off with another “Song of the Week”…

Not everyone’s “cup of tea” but as with all the ones I put up, I love it. It’s hard to explain but the bit at 2:38 gets me “floating”. May not make sense to you but it does to me. All I can say is…

“Lord have mercy, have mercy on me”…

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=recCXTgAHQ4

OK kids, good luck with your tipping and may your team win by 40 points! Until next week people. Cheers.

Baggy_Gee's picture

Thanks Mark, I'll do what I can to keep them around the game. And I'd be keeping a keen eye of the BOYS team list while we bring the young'un on, Dylan Brown is out for a couple as a precaution and for recovery. All the best for tonight Mark.

Today I finally get a day off and even though I’m 3 hrs drive I’m heading to the Roosters v Broncos although a bit confused as I’m sure we use to play on Good Friday though after the game the Broncos would kick our butts so the Friday wasn’t as good as promised
I get a call from my wife saying what time are you arriving? Arriving for what?
You have to see your daughter she’s leaving for a month to Brisbane (she’s training as a flight attendant with Qantas) I thought that was next week
That’s okay she’s a Roosters supporter I’ll take her
She can’t she’s got to pack for her trip
Suddenly the angel and devil appear on my shoulders
The devil says cmon just go the hotdogs the beer the roosters will have most supporters for a change besides your bins go out more than you
The angel says she’s your baby girl you should be a good father
It wasn’t a hard decision
we compromised she’s packing her bags in front of the telly

I was going to change my tip, but I think they are going to still be a more balanced team without three broken players. Maybe Roosters by 6 now

I am also not convinced on sharks v eels , eels might get them ...

Jake Friend & Jared W Hargreaves out makes it a more even playing field. If Tavita P Junior stands up and Matt Lodge plays well it's anyones game. Good chance for a Siebold win.

TPJ is doing his best to have a 10 minute rest. I don't want to disrespect Friend, but Radley is slaying them from dummy half.

But that last try from the Roosters was so amazing

Well.....that went well

If anybody wants me I'll be in my room :-)

And you're right 'a'....that roosters try is the sort of thing you would pull off at the beach with your mates playing four on four touch footy after a couple of beers. Freakish.

Agreed!! What a try! My son and his mum say it was a mess, I prefer to describe it as poetry in motion :P
