Greetings football fans. For those of you that disappeared for the off-season...welcome back.
Confirmed Tipsters for 2022
Those of you that participated throughout season 2021 are welcome to return. You don't have to let me know you wish to play again this year, but if you want to say hello, ask a question or say anything else feel free to say so in the comments section. If your tipster name appears in the table to the right (2021 tipping competition final results) then you are already registered for season 2022.
Welcome back everyone. Not long to go now.
Newcomers
Note: entry to the 2022 NRL tipping competition is now closed. Apologies to any latecomers. Those listed below are our new participants this season.
Newcomers are generally welcome on a first in, first served basis. If you've been waiting since last season, now is the time to let me know you're keen to be involved this year.
You will need to create an account (which is free) on the site if you don't already have one and I will update your account to tipster status (which is also free). Once I have confirmed your details and added you as a new tipster your name will be listed on this page as a newcomer. Don't be shy...most of us don't bite and it's just a bit of fun:

Questions
My loyal and obedient Little Helper has put together a page which is a handy guide to how most of this works (including creating an account, how to tip each round once you've been registered, life hacks and some dinner suggestions for busy working parents in a hurry. You can check it all out here.
Otherwise, if anyone has any questions about the competition or anything else, feel free to ask in the comments section below.
The season kicks off on Thursday 10th March with the defending premiers (Panthers) taking on the Sea Eagles out at Penrith. A nice way to start the season.
Prizes
There will be prizes for our top three tipsters and, if there's anything left in my Merchandise Mystery Box, a few random prizes throughout the season, but I'll provide more details on the prizes in the weeks ahead.
The top three also get their name etched on the Honour Board and the recognition you deserve.
Seriously...why do you keep doing this every season?
Fair question. My Little Helper and I did a rough count and we think this is our 11th season. That's a long time, we're getting old, and all the kids are on TikTok instead of watching rugby league like we did when we were young. Anyhoo...we're still having fun so we'll keep hacking away at this until The Thinker wins his own tipping comp again (it's been years...someone needs to give themself a team talk).
Notably, Thinkers Little Helper has submitted a request to HR to take his Long Service Leave. Request denied...I might give him an Adelaide Rams watch for his ten year anniversary instead :-)
All the best

Mr and Mrs Thinker.
Love your work. This year I'm finally moving home to beloved Maroubra! After being stuck in Perth for covid for yonks. So will be more immersed in the footy this year. Primed and ready after a disastrous debut season last year (forgetting a week or two).
My username sucks. Can you change it too Geds or Gmac.
Thanks Team keen for this year.

Looking forward for the 2022 season.
Is John Asiata playing with the Bulldogs this year?
Thanks.

Hi Taka,
I was checking the following sight for players movements
https://www.nrl.com/news/2022/01/27/2022-signings-tracker-official-roste...
and it looks like John Asiata has been released from the Bulldogs.
It's interesting to see who has move where.

Hi there, newby here, would like to be added to the Tipping comp. Cheers

Hey Mary S,
Thanks for that link. I always struggle at the beginning of a season to find who has gone where. Guess it doesn't matter too much just who performs when we get underway.
Hope all is good for you up there in beautiful NQ.

Hi All,
Not wishing to be political but I'm interested if Grace Tame & Brittany Higgins have anything to say about Jarryd Hayne's conviction being set aside on a technicality. Remember he had similiar charges in the USA which were settled out of court. Hayne was convicted of sexual assault, now set aside. Grace Tame should now have something to say if she is for real. Not sure about this persons convictions. Also her disrespect of our PM is not acceptable.

Hey Big Pete,
Not travelling that often your way since Mum passed, but wouldn’t mind catching up again next time I’m through. I still go past your neck of the woods every 6 weeks just to touch base with Dad. I’ll let you know, next time I’m hitting the road. Sounds like all is well with you 👍. Cheers Johnny Awesome

Hey Jonnie Awesome (the original)
So good to have you back here. As well as all others.
Big Pete, you are a legend mate and nice to see a post or two.
Christine, I have a few geckos here that feast on moths etc. They are good fun to watch. Hope you are well.

Gr8 to hear back from you Awesome J.
Would be lovely to catch up some time with you. The first and last time was a dress rehearsal of what good country friends can be like. So sorry mate to hear about your mum. We only really ever have one real mother.
I also lost all contact with you, when my Outlook crashed as to the email address I had with you. That includes you Mr Thinker (father of this site). Always good to have it for emergency purposes.
All pretty much well here, apart from the niggles we get, when we pass those magic numbers.
Hope your Canberra family are well and the new vehicle after than bum ram you copped.
Keep well Young Fella!

Heya Bronco Mark from Bribie.
Hope you and the little lady are well!
Tassie sure is a place to see ay mate. They say it has the cleanest/freshest air down there. I reckon I need it again after all this Covid mask wearing stuff wears off - if ever it does. Most of QR Coding has stopped as from today in shops etc.
I enjoyed the Jimmy Boags as well. Often get it here to keep it Australian. Many of our brews are owned by overseas corporations. The main two locally owned are Coopers (Sth Aust) and The Tassie Brews.
Sit down one day and Google the different ones and you and any others here at Thinker site will get a big SURPRISE.
Cheers Bro and enjoy the fast approaching NRL. I usually try to "chunk" the posts here, as I'm not able to touch base as frequent as I'd like. Also joining your Club within the next 12 months. Shhhhh.......
Keep well - Big Pete

Hey Big Pete,
Tassie was a lovely place to be but I now consider myself an egg expert.
Just kidding, my partner and I will be back there later in the year when it's a bit warmer. In the meantime we are booked into Tamworth for the country music festival in April and then intend to have a good look around NSW. Maybe we could catch up if we get near Bathurst?
Submitted by BigPeteBx on
Gr8 to hear back from you Mark (Tassie EggsPert) - that would be great to do Brother.
April (dates I can check) has one of those 6 or 12 Hour race events going on here that month. I can show you around and a good 1hr trip and finish with a beer, or coffee, or kids soda. Dubbo has The Western Plains Zoo (part of Taronga Zoo) and Bathurst is around 2.5hrs drive from there. Then Bx to Sydney another 3hrs with all traffic conditions thrown in. Orange (between Dubbo and Bx) has the road works going on (working on double lanes in many sections), as I was in Orange today. Mostly reduced speeds!
Keep me posted as I am on leave then and getting ready to join you - if you happen to get my drift, without elaborating too much here on general open chat.
Keep well - Big Pete

Welcome on board Rikki!! Who do you support in the NRL?
I'm assuming you are a Motley Crue fan? If I am correct I'd be interested to know what you think about Vince Neil?
Submitted by NuL1F3 on
Hello to all, new and old! Just about time to get back into it again!! Dust off that ol subscription to KAYO and get my footy cap on! Good luck everyone!
@Steel Panther Which version would you be asking about? The Crue have announced the new dates for their stadium tour and from what I have seen (and heard) from Vince.. they might need to see what John Corabi is up to?
Submitted by ScottySeahawk on
Hey @thinker ! Back again this year If I can - cheers mate.

Good to hear frm you NuL1F3
Yea seen a lot of Vince lately on YouTube and as you say it's certainly not pretty. That's why I was wondering what Rikki might have to say about him??

Hey all it’s good to be back. Can’t wait to get back to West Tigers games.
Submitted by Rikki Sixx on
Yeah pretty sad really. His vocals have really deteriorated lately, to the point where I would really question going to see them again. He's had a tough life though, what with killing one of his best mates and losing his daughter to cancer. No-one would wish that on their worst enemy. Hopefully he can lose the weight and get the voice he had in the 80s back again, but I'm not holding my breath. Love what Nikki has done with Sixx:AM though. DJ Ashba is an awesome guitarist! Rock'n'Roll!
