First there was Steve Price, then Anthony Griffin and now Titans coach John Cartwright has fallen on his sword. Nice guys really do finish last. It explains my disappointing career in Little Athletics, but it also explains why Ms Thinker was happy with me during our Tasmanian getaway last weekend.

Round twenty-one selections

I crunched the numbers last night, and the odds of me getting a perfect zero out of eight last round were around 150-1. I had to nudge the numbers a little because not every game is a 50-50 toin coss - it just seems like they are.

As is fairly usual in the NRL we had some surprise results last weekend. As is also fairly usual I've found three upset results for this weekend. What would be unusual is if I actually picked the right games. Fingers crossed.

As we edge closer to finals football the three heavyweights in the competition have worked their way into the top four. It's starting to get serious.

Round fifteen selections

The round that follows a State of Origin clash is like breakfast with Rose Byrne after you've spent the night with Scarlett Johannson. I like breakfast...and I really like Rose Byrne, but I'm going to spend most of that morning thinking and talking about Scarlett. And if Rose Byrne is half the woman I think she is, she'd probably want to hear about Scarlett anyway.
