Robbie Farah has a point to prove this weekend, but so does Mitchell Moses. His transition to the Eels wasn't smooth but it wasn't a train wreck either. He'll be better for the run I have no doubt. What I do doubt is the Rabbitohs in attack, as the Bunnies have been kept under ten points in five of their last eight outings. If you can't score ten points you can't win football games...usually. The Sharks are the only team to have kept the Eels under ten points this season, and the Sharks defence is a tougher nut than the Bunnies. What's more the Bunnies have had less days to prepare for this game, coupled with a trip back from Perth. The Rabbits may be favourites with the Bookies but not with me.

New Zealand Warriors vs Brisbane Broncos – Saturday night – Mt Smart Stadium
It's that time of year when the Warriors get on a bit of a run, people start talking up their premiership prospects...and it all comes to nothing. They're going so poorly this season they may not even make a run at all. I'm reluctantly tipping them here, because they have one of the best spines in the NRL and not one of them is in any danger of being asked to play Origin football. Compare that to the Broncos – their 1,6,7 and 9 are all perfectly capable footballers, but not one of them played in those positions for the Broncos last week. Not only that, the Broncos are without three of their starting forward pack. I'm not suggesting for a minute that the Warriors are rolled gold certainties here. A loss wouldn't surprise me one bit, but I'm tipping them to do enough, just enough, to get the two points.
Verdict – Warriors by 4

Cronulla Sharks vs Canterbury Bulldogs – Saturday night – Southern Cross Group Stadium
Two of the biggest meanest packs of forwards face off on Saturday night. The Sharks lose their best (Graham) and their meanest (Fifita) to Origin but what's left of their pack is still first class. The Sharks bench for this game – Bukuya (6 ft 2), Tagataese (6 ft 4), Latimore (6 ft 4) and Paulo (6 ft 2) – is still first class too. With Graham, Maloney and Bird on Origin duty the Sharks have lost some flair in attack, but I'm not convinced the Bulldogs have any flair to lose. Sharks for mine in a low-scoring grind...particularly at home on a Saturday night.

Canberra Raiders vs Sydney Roosters – Sunday afternoon – GIO Stadium
The Raiders lose Papalii to Origin and he was best on ground for them in round eleven, but beyond that the Raiders have named their best seventeen, Meanwhile the Chooks lose three of their best forwards (Cordnor, Napa and Guerra), their most important playmaker (Pearce) and their most dangerous back (Ferguson). Note too, that Kenny-Dowall is still serving a suspension. The Roosters are left with a competitive seventeen, but given the strength of the opposition and the venue the Raiders should have these chooks spinning in a rotisserie by the 60th minute mark.
Verdict – Raiders by 14

Hi everyone,
Late again this week as major issues with laptop AC Adaptor and only got the replacement today. Anyways, the first SOO on Wednesday has resulted in top players being missing all over the place this weekend. Looks like the “easy picks” may not be so easy. If I can repeat my “perfect round” from last week I’ll be more than happy. Shouldn’t gloat too much though, it’s sure to come crashing down around me sooner or later. Then again, it may not. I’m runnin’ with it and with only 4 games this week, I might get lucky again. Here’s hoping. OK, let’s get into it …
Rabbitohs - apparently there’s some doubt on a few Eels players being available which might impact on their chances here. Based on their effort against the Storm last week, I might just have to go the Bunnies this week. Wouldn’t be surprised if this was a close one.
Warriors - the Broncos will be without 6 because of SOO or 7 if you include McCullough. As good as they are, I’m thinking it might just be a little too much for them to be missing that many. Warriors for me. Peow! Peow! (that was for you Johnny Ray).
Sharks - on one hand you have the Sharks missing 4 but they’ll still have the Cry Baby and Holmes so they should be good. On the other hand you have an improved Dogs outfit (geez we were lucky to beat ‘em last week) who’ll be missing Graham, Morris and Klemmer. Might just keep with the perceived “class” and tip the Sharkies.
Raiders - the stats aren’t very encouraging for my BBB at SOO time. We seem to struggle big time without our “guns” when they’re away on SOO duties and maybe it will happen again this week. Raiders play well at home and they’re only missing one (Papalii) on Wednesday night. As much as I hate to do this, I’m gonna have to go the Raiders on Sunday. Damn! Damn! Damn! Begurk!
FA Cup Final - Newbie will be watching this one with a couple of his good buddies on Saturday night. Well, actually it starts around 30 minutes past the midnight hour so technically it’s Sunday morning (just). Feel sorry for you guys on the East Coast as it’ll be even later. Half a dozen Chang beers and a bottle of 2015 Limestone Coast Cape Jaffa Shiraz should see me through the game. Still mulling over whether or not to jump on the $4.50 the WA TAB is offering me for the Arsenal win. Tempting, very tempting indeed.
P.S. Really gettin’ excited about the first SOO on Wednesday night. We’ll get it live at 6.15 so perfect start and finish time over here. Still plenty of time to get things done after the game’s done and dusted. Sometimes it’s good to be here in the West.

Mr Forttress, ahhh youngin'. I'll tell you a true story, when I met 'She who must be obeyed' 30 years ago, I already had the moniker of Johnny Awesome. I acquired that name during my earlier footy and boxing days. Now, Mr Fortress when ‘She who must be obeyed’ first introduced me to her Mum and this is fairdinkum, she said “Mum, I want to meet Johnny, Johnny this my Mum”. Her Mum asked what my surname was, ‘She who must be obeyed’ replied on my behalf, ‘Oh it’s Awesome Mum, this is Johnny Awesome’. For about 3 months after that her Mum thought my actual surname was Awesome. Now that’s fairdinkum. The moral of the story is that after 30 years of being with her, she still introduces me as Johnny Awesome, and says her husband is Awesome. When you get to that stage Mr Fortress, then you know you’ve done ok. Take care mate.
Mr Newbie, I may regret this, but after reading your comment and reassessing Mr Thinker slant on the games, I’m changing my tip to the Sharks. Bulldogs have lost a bit of punch due to State of Origin, home ground may get Sharks home. I could be Mr Thinkers and yours KOD.

Hi all,
On the busamd it's Friday. I tell you all, Action buses in Canberra do ok. One ride gets you 11/2hrs of travel, change as many buses in that time as you need. It's pretty good darts. Going to watch the Raiders play on Sunday with my youngest daughter. There is a pecking order for my two seats in the inner bowl. 'She who must be obeyed' always has first,choice, then it's a toss up between my daughters, after that my best mate then comes with me, rain, hail or snow. Anyway, it's unusual for my daughter to really want to go because I always get there when the gates open to watch the lower grades, and it's too long a day for her. I worked out why though folks. Sometime ago, Mr 'a', Christine felt unjustifiably picked on. And thanks to Mr Thinker this has been taken away. That was unacceptable and guess what? Good will always prevail in the end. Well, I found out my daughter is going through a pretty tough time at school, fairdinkum, I'm getting a bit emotional now but I'll finish. Anyway, she wants to be with her Daddy, she needs that comfort and my securiity. The mistake I made wss arrangimg my best mate to go to the footy not realising my daughter needed me. Its all sorted now. BubbyLoo and mysrlf will have Daddy and daughter time for 5 to 6 hours, enjoy great footy, get a few hotdogs and diet cokes betwren us. Come Monday, Ill be at her school to help sort things for her. Anyway, nearly at my first transfer, so catch you later.

She's cool Fortress. I'm about mate - finished late from work with a bit of running about today. Did a job in my next door yard where house is vacant. Found in outside laundry there appears to be a squatter (Katter without the hat) in there for a couple of days. Now I need to catch it red-handed (no horses in it or Melb Cup winners).
Understand with Pabdul, that I think he started a new work abode this week and The Rooster might be a little laid up. He possibly realises, that his bantams could be on a loss this short round.

The Broncs will do it hard but the Warriors seem to have lost their way this year. If they get a win over the depleted Broncs then good luck to them and their supporters.
On SOO if you look at what has happened this year so far, the Storm, the Broncos and the Cowboys have defeated the Sydney teams.
Most of the QLD team are drawn from those clubs, so the best of the winners play the best of the losers.
We have Storm and Broncos at 1 and 2 Cowboys at 7 (would be higher if JT had been there) OK JT is not playing but Morgan has stepped up big time.
Who would you pick on this basis?
It's at Suncorp, QLD have the history and they will win.

Little Sparrow sounds like my toddler when she was in early primary school (14 years ago), as there was a young boy picking the hell out of some of the girls. The principal had no knackers and didn't want to take action, as the kids parents had a local eatery and sponsored the school with funds on occasions. Double standards, but if it isn't bullying in a school, it could be a teacher who doesn't wish to dedicate some time to ease your child through.
Be strong Kandos Kid for Kids......don't be a wimp at the school - stand your ground for your child and she will see the country boy come out of you mate. Its a two way street and you want it sorted mate, especially for your child, because psychologically, it can affect her and her studies if it isn't.
Go The Raiders and don't worry about the clap. Be more concerned about the school crap Bro.

Hey Newbie - FA Cup gets later all the time over here on the eastern side.
I'd like to see Arsenal Gunners get it, but both teams have players out.
Chelsea won the title and about time Wenger got another piece of silverware. My Man Utd won Europa Cup and that was super awesome.
Gunners have to bite the bullet and spend or Wenger will be out the door submitting a pension application.
It will be memories mate, of when I saw Arsenal play West Ham in FA Cup at old Wembley. The atmosphere is electric and the singing that came form the terraces softened your heart. Terraces are no more as it is all seating these days.
Yes this SoO 1 will be interesting from a lot of angles. Depends what players see the game out, as to who wins I feel. Injuries have plagued clubs so far in eleven rounds and several will be tested in the early stages at Suncorp.

I appreciate all your comments and those words of yours Mr Newbie from Frankie were cool mate. You have a good heart mate, you would make a great father. Do you know what? And this goes out to everyone but with a special mention to Mr ‘a’ and Christine as well who I also find inspirational, how good is this site? Think about it, it’s very rare for a footy site to have such fine people on board. Mr Thinker has created something more than a footy site here folks, he has created a family atmosphere. This is fairdinkum, I’ve been on footy sites over the years but left them due to idiots on board. Since becoming a part of Mr Thinkers site, I can say there are genuine folk here with good hearts. Mr Mark Ashford, my youngest daughter is 15 going on 16. I still call her Bubby Loo because that’s what’s she wants and needs from me. She needs my security. Without divulging too much, she is not your average teenager, she still loves the child things, she is still is very innocent, and she just wants to make friends with everyone. Like her Dad, she is colour blind in the real sense, each person is special to her, there is no distinction, a person is a person. It is because of this that there are certain girls in the high school that are bullying her mentally causing her anguish. These certain girls are smart enough not to show overt bullying but give the type that won’t be detected. They see her softness and derive pleasure from her pain. Do you know what? I do not wish these girls any ill will. They are immature children who don’t know the damage they can do to a fragile mind. One day they will grow up and I hope they never feel the pain they are giving my daughter. In the mean time I need to protect my daughter who doesn’t understand why she is being tormented. The staff at the school are amazing, they love my girl and between us, starting on Monday, we will find strategies to protect her.
I know the positives will always out way the negatives so just enjoy your footy guys and gals. Absolute pleasure having a yarn with you all.

Johnny awesome Help your daughter to see that by not letting those people get to her she is better than them because the moment they know they have gotten to her they will keep doing it so she can never let them see it bothering her which I know isn't easy to always do believe me i'm someone who wears my heart on my sleeve i'm that sensitive to things that people say & do that's why coach used to give me a hard time the more it upset me the more he enjoyed doing it & unfortunately there are people in the world like that but we have to rise above it infact my own father & sister are like that towards me tell your daughter if she needs a friend i'm her friend & I will stand up to any bully for her & with her ok i'm on her side ...

Guys I have to be honest with you I haven't had a social life apart from going shopping for the family going to dr's appointments & the odd family get toughter or birthday or Christmas gathering for 14 years i'm a recluse & when my father & I part ways I won't even have that anymore & being alone in this world when you have a disability is a scary prospect that's why being on this site is important to me I get along better with you guys than my own family ...
