Parramatta Eels vs Wests Tigers – Thursday night – Bankwest Stadium
The Eels lost top spot on the ladder last week, and it's fair to say their last two performances haven't been table-topping standard. They do welcome back some key inclusions on Thursday night in Moses, Matterson and Ferguson. While the Tigers impressed against the Broncos, and Marshall sparked their attack, there are huge question marks over that form. The Broncos goal-line defence was as bad as it gets, and that has clearly been one of the strengths for the Eels this season. They'll be much harder to crack in defence, and Moses can only improve their attack. It's the game of the round.
Verdict – Eels by 7
Result – Eels 26 defeated Tigers 16
North Queensland Cowboys vs Manly Sea Eagles – Friday night – Queensland Country Bank Stadium
A much improved performance from the Cowboys against the ladder leaders in round ten. Can they repeat that effort, or was it a one time only performance for their departing coach? Josh Hannay takes over for the rest of the season, and has an opportunity to prove himself for next year if things go well. The first up assignment for Hannay is a tough one, with Manly feeling buoyent after a win over the Eels. Fonua-Blake returns to bolster what is already a very strong pack of forwards, and he'll be keen to make amends.
Verdict – Sea Eagles by 8
Result – Sea Eagles 24 defeated Cowboys 12
Brisbane Broncos vs Melbourne Storm – Friday night – Suncorp Stadium
I didn't expect the Broncos to beat the Tigers but I didn't expect 48-0. The old boys are right - they are disgracing the jersey. The Storm have a better record at Suncorp than they do at AAMI Park, and haven't lost at this venue to the Broncos for more than a decade. Every Broncos team that has been beaten by the Storm since 2009 would beat the 2020 Broncos side. The loss to the Tigers was hard to watch. I'm not sure I can even turn this on.
Verdict – Storm by 60
Result – Storm 46 defeated Broncos 8
New Zealand Warriors vs Sydney Roosters – Saturday afternoon – Central Coast Stadium
This could be even harder to watch. I was hopeful that the Warriors would put in a fair effort last week before a quartet of their squad head home, but they played like they all want to go home. In games against sides in or near the top eight, the Warriors have scored 0, 6, 0, 12, 6 and 10 for a total of 34 points in 6 games. The Roosters will score more than 34 in this one game.
Verdict – Roosters by 34
Result – Roosters 18 defeated Warriors 10
Cronulla Sharks vs St George Illawarra Dragons – Saturday night – Netstrata Jubilee Stadium
I'm not sure if the hatred between these clubs runs as deep as it once did, but hate each other they do. This is usually enough to make this game interesting, but with both sides in some winning form this is potentially the game of the round. I'm sticking with the Dragons who are starting to impress me, what with their under-rated pack of forwards and some rising stars in their backline. And I've been given a tip that this debutant for the Sharks (Teig) is pretty good, but what a truly unusual name he has (I don't even know how to pronounce it).
Verdict – Dragons by 2
Result – Sharks 28 defeated Dragons 24
Canberra Raiders vs South Sydney Rabbitohs – Saturday night – GIO Stadium
The Raiders surprised most of us with a win over the Roosters, but only because they found their usual form after a period of under-performing. The Bunnies head to the capital without James Roberts and Ethan Lowe, and both will be out for some time. Campbell Graham returns after a facial injury which helps. For the Raiders, John Bateman has been named on an extended bench, but is probably another week away. As a rule, I like to do a quick weather check before any game in Canberra, and on Saturday night we are expecting rain and temperatures near enough to zero. All the poms won't mind, but brrrrr!!!
Verdict – Raiders by 4
Result – Raiders 18 defeated Rabbitohs 12
Newcastle Knights vs Canterbury Bulldogs – Sunday afternoon – McDonald Jones Stadium
The Knights have a woeful (recent) record against the Bulldogs, but surely...surely, history counts for little on Sunday afternoon in Newcastle. The home side found their spark in round ten and I don't expect them to lose it overnight. The Bulldogs tried hard against the Dragons for their new (interim) coach, but no one has ever accused the Dogs of not trying. Unfortunately, they just aren't good enough.
Verdict – Knights by 10
Result – Bulldogs 18 defeated Knights 12
Gold Coast Titans vs Penrith Panthers – Sunday afternoon – Cbus Super Stadium
The scoreboard would indicate otherwise but the Titans were pretty good against the Storm last weekend, until half time at least. That tells me they are giving it a red hot go, but will usually fall short against the very best teams, and occasionally spring an upset over a more fancied rival who doesn't turn up to play. The Titans bring back Proctor and Copley on Sunday which helps, and the Panthers are without professional tackling machine Koroisau, Edwards and Whare. A Titans win would be a proper upset, and while I wouldn't be quite as surprised as most, I have to tip the Panthers. The steadying influence of the TikTok man should see them home.
Verdict – Panthers by 8
Result – Panthers 22 defeated Titans 14

Sa-wat-dee krup,
Settle back with some Tim Tams and a cuppa, this week is a long read (sorry). OK, let’s get into it…
Eels vs. Tigers 60-40 @ Bankwest
Ladder Position = Eels
Bookies Favourite = Eels
Eels
Not a great first half effort from the Eels last week. Manly ambushed them and heading to the break the Eels found themselves 22-4 down. Letting Manly score right on half-time really hurt them. A much better effort in the second half from the Eels but that first half deficit ultimately proved too much and they went down 22-18. They did start to gain some momentum but weren’t able to capitalise on their chances as their attack just seemed a little off. A good game from Reagan Campbell-Gillard in running for a massive 297 metres (120 post contact metres to boot) and a handy 47 tackles in a solid 80 minute effort. Stats-wise, the Eels did pretty well but still fell short. They won possession (57-43), ran more metres (2229-1474), had more post contact metres (782-538) but less kicking metres (615-814), more forced drop outs (3-0), less missed tackles (28-37) and less ineffective tackles (7-15).
Tigers
Last week against the Broncos, the Tigers had a “training run” for want of a better word and were leading 26-0 at half-time and won it 48-0 by the end of the 80 minutes. Pretty good effort from the Tigers where they dominated possession and territory. The second half “fade-outs” I’ve seen in the past did not appear and that must be pleasing for the Tigers’ fans. While the Tigers’ attack was indeed potent, time will tell if it measures up against better opposition in the future. An absolute blinder from the “old bloke” Benji Marshall. His all-round game was very, very good where he kicked a 40/20, scored a try, had a try assist, forced 2 drop-outs, put other players into holes and was a worry for the opposition every time he had the ball in his hands. Great efforts too from Harry Grant, Walters, Leilua and Garner as well. All in all, a very dominant display last week from the Tigers. Nine tries to nil told the story. Not many stats to get excited about except that the Tigers won the possession (52-48), ran more metres (1932-1165), had more post contact metres (671-497), more line breaks (7-0) and less missed tackles (19-30).
Verdict: Not at their best last week but made up a lot of points. Playing at home. The Eels.
Cowboys vs. Manly 45-55 @ Townsville
Ladder Position = Manly
Bookies Favourite = Manly
Cowboys
Pretty even first half last week against the Panthers and they went to the sheds locked at 4-4 courtesy of a try just minutes from the half-time siren. A strong effort in the second half saw the Cowboys really serve it up to the Panthers and the final score of 22-10 flattered the Panthers just a touch. The Cowboys were only 6 points behind when Cleary scored in the 80th minute. Meh! The Cowboys did make some errors and some early discipline issues but they persevered and never gave up. To take it up to the ladder leaders like they did was a good sign as far as I was concerned. A tight 80 minutes of football that the Cowboys weren’t expected to win but on reflection, could have. Good games from Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow and Josh McGuire. The Cowboys had less possession (45-55), less post contact metres (563-731), less line breaks (4-9), no forced drop outs, more missed tackles (38-21), more errors (12-9) but less penalties conceded (5-8).
Manly
Manly absolutely smacked the Eels in the first half last week and led 22-4 at the break. The second half was a totally different affair however. How did Manly score nothing in the second half and still win? And against quality opposition as well! 💪 The Eels came back strongly and all Manly could do was defend their hearts out. And defend they did, finally scraping home 22-18. Cherry-Evans silenced his critics from the week before with a great effort. Jake Trbojevic had a great game too, topping Manly’s tackle count with 52 and Marty Taupau deserves an honourable mention as well. Stats-wise, Manly didn’t fare all that well but still won. They lost the battle for possession (43-57), ran less metres (1474-2229), had less post contact metres (538-782) but more kicking metres (814-615), less forced drop outs (0-3), more missed tackles (37-28) and more ineffective tackles (15-7).
Verdict: Thought they did well last week. Playing at home. The Cowboys.
Broncos vs. Storm 15-85 @ Suncorp
Ladder Position = Storm
Bookies Favourite = Storm
Broncos
As if it wasn’t bad enough being down 26-0 at half-time, the Broncos ended up with an embarrassing 48-0 loss and Corey Oates does his leg (thankfully no break or fracture). Can things get any worse? The Broncos defence was virtually non-existent and they had no idea on how to handle the Tigers’ attack. I could be wrong but after every try the Tigers scored I saw absolutely no talking from the Broncos players standing in the in goal waiting for the conversion kick. Nothing. Just an observation is all. That try that Leilua scored off an attempted short dropout from the Broncos was inexcusably diabolical and summed up the night they had. I really feel for the diehard Broncos fans who watched the game 😥. It must be soul destroying and painful to see their guys performing like this. There seemed like there was no commitment or any sort of game plan from the Broncos. As hard as it might sound, I think Seibold needs to immediately drop some of the bigger name “stars” in the Broncos’ side who aren’t performing (or don’t have the desire) and let the young fellas develop into a side with who’ll have more hunger and heart. If he doesn’t then the Broncos board just have to let Seibold go. It really is as simple as that. 9 tries to 0 told the story. And now they have to square off against the Storm. Yikes! Not many stats to get excited about except that the Broncos lost the possession (48-52), ran less metres (1165-1932), had less post contact metres (497-671), no line breaks at all and had more missed tackles (30-19).
Storm
It took just over 20 minutes for the Storm to score and while the Titans did get it back to 6-6, the Storm were basically in total control and were leading 18-6 at the break. More pain for the Titans in the second half with the Storm running out classy winners 42-6. The Storm were just too good and simply outclassed the Titans. Not quite the skilful performance we’re used to seeing from the Storm but that was countered by some great individual efforts from the likes of Cameron Smith, Munster and Big Nelson. Stats-wise the Storm did well enough against inferior opposition. They won the possession (56-44), had more metres run (1723-964), more post contact metres (603-346), more line breaks (8-0), less missed tackles (16-41) and less ineffective tackles (12-27). Surprisingly their kick defusal was very poor (22-56). 🤔.
Verdict: I really hope the Broncos put in a better effort but it’s the Storm for me.
Warriors vs. Roosters 15-85 @ Central Coast
Ladder Position = Roosters
Bookies Favourite = Roosters
Warriors
What can you say about the Warriors? I have a soft spot for our Kiwi cousins 💖 and admire what they’ve sacrificed and endured to keep the competition going but I think the toll is finally starting to mount. Away from home too long, no family, no friends, no players, no support and a sacked coach. It’s no wonder their form is being affected. I wonder what happens if you substitute the Storm or the Tigers or the Roosters or the Rabbitohs say. How would they be travelling? 🤔. Anyway, the Warriors weren’t too flash last week against the Sharks. Down 24-4 at half-time and finally lost it 46-10. Too many errors, wasted opportunities, incomplete sets and a sin bin didn’t help their cause. It’s a real shame given the aforementioned points above. The stats didn’t truly reflect such a big loss with the Warriors having more possession (51-49), more forced drop outs (3-1) but less line breaks (3-9). Pretty close with missed tackles (37-40), errors (14-15) and penalties conceded (7-6). And now they have to square off to the Roosters. Ouch!
Roosters
The Roosters weren’t that impressive in the first half (too many silly mistakes) but I was happy that we went into the sheds leading 12-6. Their second half effort was poor by their standards and even though the lead was chopping and changing, the Raiders held out and the Roosters lost it 24-20. Really apathetic middle defence from the Roosters to be blunt and the Raiders made the Roosters pay. When Angus “accidently” elbowed Papalii in the head and the Roosters got the penalty, I had a bad feeling that we were gone. The look on the face of Papalii waiting in the line just told me that. The Roosters did have a red hot crack towards the end but the Raiders’ defence and desperation were just too good. Shining light for the Roosters (yet again) was Tedesco. He ran for 236 metres, made 8 tackle breaks and had a try-assist. Mr Reliable 💪. Stats-wise the Roosters were mediocre. Lost the possession (45-55), very poor completion of 68% (27/40), less kicks (7-18), less kicking metres (257-644), inferior kick defusal (33-83), more errors (14-7) and more missed tackles (26-21). Ouch!
Verdict: Roosters. Begurk! 🐔 Begurk! 🐔
Sharks vs. Dragons 55-45 @ Jubilee
Ladder Position = Sharks
Bookies Favourite = Sharks
Sharks
The Sharks comfortably led the Warriors 24-4 at half-time last week. More of the same in the second half saw them run out easy 46-10 winners. As big as the win was and as good as the performances from Johnson, Katoa, Ramien and Woods were, I wasn’t totally convinced with the Sharks’ seemingly easy win. Yeah they had most of the momentum and yeah they did take full advantage when opportunities presented themselves but for mine they were playing against a side struggling with their emotional wellness and confidence brought about by post-COVID issues. Then again, I could be totally and utterly wrong. But hey, a good effort nevertheless. Footy can be ruthless sometimes eh? Food for thought. The stats were pretty close with the Sharks having slightly less possession (49-51), less forced drop outs (1-3) but more line breaks (9-3). Pretty close also with missed tackles (40-37), errors (15-14) and penalties conceded (6-7).
Dragons
The Dragons went Boom!-Boom! in the first half last week against the Bulldogs and were 10 points up after 10 minutes but then the Bulldogs went Boom! Boom! too and the Dragons were down 20-10 at the break. The Dragons were the better side in the second half but left it (really) late to score the winner and “sneak” home 28-22. Good games from Dufty and Frizell. Stats-wise they shared possession (50-50), had a better, albeit poor, kick defusal (64-36), less missed tackles (18-28), less ineffective tackles (3-10) but more errors (11-6) and more penalties conceded (6-3).
Verdict: Dunno, this is a hard one. Toss the coin and it comes up …. Dragons.
Raiders vs. Rabbitohs 60-40 @ GIO
Ladder Position = Raiders
Bookies Favourite = Raiders
Raiders
The Raiders scored first but the Roosters came back at them and scored a couple which saw the Raiders going into the break 12-6 behind. The Roosters made plenty of mistakes in the second half and the Raiders said “thank you very much” and even though they had done a truckload of defending in the first half, the Raiders were made to do more defending and managed to score tries themselves and grab a gutsy 24-20 win last week. Their win showed how determination, discipline and an “attitude” can get you over the line when all the pundits give you next to no chance. Great effort from Papalii (MoM) and ably supported by Williams, Croker and Wighton. The way the Raiders went up another level in the second half was very impressive. Stats-wise the Raiders had a blinder. Won the possession (55-45), had a better completion rate (85-68), more kicks (18-7), more kicking metres (644-257), superior kick defusal (83-33), less errors (7-14) and less missed tackles (21-26).
Rabbitohs
The Rabbitohs had a pretty dismal first half last week against the Knights and even though they had a few chances, they went into the sheds 14-0 down. They finally managed to get on the scoreboard but it took them until the last 15 minutes to do so. Three tries in 8 minutes was admirable but it was a little too late and they lost it 20-18. Again, it seems they can only beat teams outside the 8 but things may have been different had Latrell not been missing. Not surprisingly, Damien Cook played a good game for the Bunnies. He made 56 tackles, scored 2 tries and ran 124 metres out of dummy half. The stats were uncannily similar in numbers between the Rabbitohs and the Knights last week. The only ones of note that were remotely interesting were that the Rabbitohs had slightly less possession (49-51), less kicking metres (466-722), less penalties conceded (2-4) but more errors (12-8).
Verdict: After last week I have to stick with the Raiders.
Knights vs. Bulldogs 75-25 @ McDonald Jones
Ladder Position = Knights
Bookies Favourite = Knights
Knights
Good effort from the Knights in the first half last week (keeping the Rabbitohs scoreless) saw them head into the sheds 14-0 up. More domination from the Knights in the second half and with 15 minutes to go they were 20 points in front. Then the Bunnies scored 3 tries in 8 minutes and it was game on. Not surprisingly, the Knights dug in, defended well and held on for a 20-18 win. Not really sure if the first 65 minutes had them knackered or if they were just outplayed in the last 15. It’s all irrelevant now but still worth some thought. Nice efforts from Ponga (1 try, 1 try assist and ran 163 metres) and Best (1 try, 1 try assist and ran 193 metres). As with the Rabbitohs last week, the Knights’ stats were uncannily similar in numbers. The only ones of note that were remotely interesting were that the Knights had slightly more possession (51-49), more kicking metres (722-466), more penalties conceded (4-2) but less errors (8-12).
Bulldogs
Pretty impressive first half from the Bulldogs last week and at half-time they were leading the Dragons 20-10. It all turned sour in the second half though and they were run over and finally lost a close one 28-22. And they only lost it with a last minute try from Corey Norman. Ouch! The Bulldogs were valiant but couldn't contain the Dragons in the second 40. A great opportunity gone begging. With more consistent efforts in both halves, they could very well win a couple more games this year. Meaney had a good game. Stats-wise they shared possession (50-50), had a very poor 36% kick defusal, more missed tackles (28-18), more ineffective tackles (10-3) but less errors (6-11) and less penalties conceded (3-6).
Verdict: A few concerns with the Knights but they should win here.
Titans vs. Panthers 25-75 @ Cbus
Ladder Position = Panthers
Bookies Favourite = Panthers
Titans
While the Titans did get one back and make it 6-6, the Storm got a couple more and went into the sheds leading the Titans 18-6 last week. Unfortunately the Titans had no answers to the Storm in the second half and eventually went down disappointingly 42-6. They simply had no idea on how to deal with Munster, Smith and Big Nelson. Then again when the Storm are on a roll, what can you do eh? Stats-wise the Titans were blown away somewhat. They lost the battle for possession (44-56), had less metres run (964-1723), less post contact metres (346-603), no line breaks at all, more missed tackles (41-16) and more ineffective tackles (27-12). Their kick defusal was very poor but they still did better than Melbourne (56-22). Huh?
Panthers
Pretty even first half last week against the Cowboys with both sides heading to the sheds locked at 4-4. Similar tussle in the second half but the Panthers had the benefit of Nathan Cleary dominating the game in large parts and scoring one himself right at the death. The final score was 22-10 in favour of the Panthers but it was close for the entire match and the score (in my mind at least) flattered the Panthers just a little. They were only 6 points in front when Cleary scored in the 80th minute. Meh! The Panthers were not at their best but 2 points is 2 points and now they sit on top of the ladder and that I suppose, is all that matters. The Panthers had more possession (55-45), more post contact metres (731-563), more line breaks (9-4), more forced drop outs (3-0), less missed tackles (21-38), less errors (9-12) but more penalties conceded (8-5).
Verdict: Titans had a hard one last week and this doesn’t get any easier. Panthers for me.
Let’s finish off with another “Song of the Week”…
Seriously, at my age I shouldn’t like stuff like this so much 🤪.

Ty for the kind words everyone, here's my tips for the round.
Eels v Tigers
PARA 1-12 - The Guru is thinking Para have the edge here, Manly blasted them early last week and gave the Guru a nice little earner, however Para kept them scoreless second half and put on 18. Moses is back which helps and Para look solid.
NQ v Manly
NQ 1-12 - Coach got sacked...home game, too much pride to lose. NQ cant lose this one surely. Manly played the house down last week, they've had their little revival, all is well. When the coach gets the ass your obligated to win, Unless you hate him.
Bronco's v Storm
MEL 1-12 - The Guru really wants to tip Brisbane here, its kinda the same as the above situation, Seibold is a dead man walking, he's done. 2021 will be a new beginning at Red Hill. The problem with this game is, that Brisbane really have to play some football, play like savages...because the sky has fallen and they are being watched by everyone, But, On their best day, this team probably cant beat the current Melb team on a reasonably good day. The money here is Bris on the Line, last time i checked the line was +19.5, Brisbane HAVE to make a huge effort in this game, they'll probably lose but The Guru feels it'll be by less than 19.5pts
Warriors v Roosters
Roosters 13+ - Nothing to see here.
Sharks v Dragons
STG 1-12 - St George have been plying well, The Guru feels that coach Mary has this team playing to its ability, this is about as good as they will get in 2020. The Sharks had a good win over easy beats last week, but they've struggled against stronger opposition. Dragons in a close game for mine.
Raiders v Rabbits
CAN 1-12 The Raiders are specials here, Home game, a ton of drive and effort and real belief. Souths are misfiring, playing reasonable footy but lacking any killer instinct. Souths have a while before they win games like this. Guru tip of the round.
Knights v Dogs
Knights 13+ - Newcastle should get the win without too much drama. The Doggies are doing it tough, no one expects much from them right now and they dont have the motivation to lift into high gear for enough time to win this.
Titans v Panthers
Panthers 13+ - Training run for the Panthers, i think Coach Cleary will want to see improvements, last week they clocked off and allowed the Cowboys to scare them. Lock it in Eddie.

Hey Christine
I don't like seeing you so upset. I don't think Steel meant to get you going but he was merely pointing out that he thought you had forgotten a few others without mentioning their names.
It's more fun when you get stuck into Rocket, I don't think he is smart enough to realise that he is under attack.
Have a great Wednesday folks, I'm off to go for a walk then up to Toowoomba to give my 30th blood donation.

You are right. No offence was meant and it was more just tongue-in-cheek humour. As most know, I, like most on this site had a distinct dislike of Couch and Fortress and defended many (especially Baggy) who got subjected to some real disgraceful comments. To wake up this morning to a hail of bullets was as disgraceful as the recent Warriors and Broncos performances.
I've always enjoyed this site, feel I contribute with sound footy commentary, but it makes me feel like not even bothering anymore.

Anyway you off to Adelaide today to work at the grand chancellor hotel in Glenelg.
They said I can enter SA as an essential worker but if I want to return to NSW in 3 days I can’t leave the hotel for the duration. I have a brother here who I haven’t seen in 3 years but hey no one said he can’t enter the hotel so I’m hoping to catch up.
@Steel
I get taken wrong quite often as I only speak new south Welshman but as annoying as it is you just step away and as baggy said you can pick and choose who you communicate with.
I enjoy your comments but you can’t control how people will react

Who cares Butcher, who cares. Its old history, it cause issues and Steel is right in what he says. But the future is bright and there is Football on tomorrow night, I'm thinking the BOYS can get up and string up the stripey cats, but after that schlacking we took last week and the short turn around we have to be careful, I wouldn't be surprised to see it go down to the wire as I looked at our draw and a lot of the games coming up are in the hard to impossible category, as the teams are playing well or are the Achilles heel of the BOYS. But let see how it goes. Interested to hear what Steel thinks of Silly Bill possibly coming across to the Worriers, and what people think of Kimmorley asking the NRL to pay him and send him to a team for the rest of the season. Makes a mockery of the Cap (sombrero) if you ask me.

Agree with both Steel & Tigerholic. No one on here deliberately sets out to hurt someone else's feelings. There was not a drop of malice in what Steel said & I think it was absolutely blown out of proportion. At no point did Steel attack anyone for having a disability either. It's sad to see this stuff happen because we are all here for the same reason- to have a laugh, not to take life so seriously & talk about Footy and how bad the warriors are. It's all a bit of fun !
Let's get on with our lives & continue commenting about our love of footy - that's what this page is for and the reason I signed up!

Nice work to get 10 straight with no strikes in 'a's 3 strike comp.
I noticed the comp is continuing, so it will be interesting to see how it progresses as the choice of teams lessens.
Cheers,
Mary

Hi to all,
I found this article of interest for anyone disappointed in their team's performance this year.
https://www.nrl.com/news/2020/07/22/the-psychology-behind-how-broncos-ca...
As previous performances by Eels & Panthers are also mentioned, and how they are have turned that around to their current success, I thought some positive spin might be welcome!
Cheers,
Mary

Another excellent post by you. Read every word and it all makes sense.
Siebold and every Bronco in the squad should read this. In fact it should be a compulsory study for the club.

Hey Christine
I'm happy to see you have offered an apology to Steel Panther. His comment was meant as a joke and I'm sorry you took it the wrong way.
I have been lucky enough to catch up with Steel on his last two visits to the Sunshine Coast and I can assure you you couldn't meet a nicer or more genuine bloke. There is no way he was trying to stir you up.
Anyway enough said lets all be friends from here on in.
By the way, good luck with trying to get some weight off your doggie.
Our furry friends love their tucker, so it's not easy.

Rocket I’m really staying in the flag inn across the road. It’s so dodgy here they stole my towel!
Just make sure you watch the Broncos v Storm match......I think that will be punishment enough.

Tiger i hope you are tipping raiders not souths ???
Submitted by Baggy_Gee on
Well Baggy's girls are on 38/80 and are lagging behind everyone, but at least they are still punching on. Here are their tips for this weekend.
Eels - Because I like the Eels
Manly - Because we like birds
Storm - Because the Bronco's have been that bad
Warriors - A deer missing an eye
Dragons - Because they breath fire (haven't they ever lately)
Rabbits - We saw a hare across the road at the golf course today
Bulldogs - We like the ugly breed
Panthers - Because they are black

Not sure where the warriors rumours are coming from but SBW will be a Rooster from round 17.

Hey Butcher
Interesting call on SBW. Perhaps you can explain how he will fit under the Roosters cap or maybe he is playing for nothing? Personally I'd prefer to see him at the Warriors as he is a Kiwi and his team needs him.
Enjoy yourself in SA but stay out of QLD until you are passed ok.

Mark
There’s plenty over with Latrell leaving
Though the roosters have a full roster and a player will needs to be released

Really? Maybe you could release Tedesco to the Broncs and Cordner as well then you may be under the cap but I doubt it.

Hi Butcher,
The story on NRL website - https://www.nrl.com/news/2020/07/22/roosters-reunion-cordner-would-welco... could have had the rumor mill buzzing.

With talk of Sonny Bill Williams interested in linking with an NRL club for the rest of the season, I thought I would offer this (and some of you will choke on your corn flakes here):
The Roosters have underspent the salary cap this season. They wouldn't have enough room for SBW, but they would if were prepared to release a player (or even two) to the Warriors (who need players).
Submitted by The Butcher on
Why wouldn’t they have room on their salary cap?
Latrell left and they pick up Morris for around $275k
Cronk leaves and they pick up Flanagan for a lot less
SBW would be offered $300k and with the 50% salary cuts he would get $150k for at least 6 games depending how far the Roosters go.
There are players playing for less that people think.
Cornflakes? I’m going to celebrate and go the burcher(not butcher) muesli.
