Game preview
Have I mentioned previously that Queensland hates New South Wales? It's not a Pakistan/India level of hatred, but it's real, and entirely justified. Don't get me wrong, we would hand you a beer and have a chat if we bumped into each other somewhere. We have enough in common to keep things civil when we have to, and you're not the worst people in Australia that's for sure (Hello South Australia). That said, you're not getting an invite for Christmas, and if you turned up out of the blue (or in blue) there's sure to be an argument after lunch. Historically, New South Wales used to be cool...and less stupid. You see, prior to June 1859 we were one happy family. Then they split us virtually down the middle and everyone south of the Tweed River has been a moron ever since. Interestingly, the Northern Rivers of NSW were at one point meant to be a part of Queensland until they shifted the border north a tad. A disappointing decision I say, because the Northern Rivers is my favourite part of NSW. Perhaps deep down, the people of that region feel like Queenslanders anyway. I know Greg Inglis does. Anyway, New South Wales will lose because they're a bunch of entitled morons who are going to get a heavy dose of reality for 80 minutes on Wednesday night. It will hurt, for a while, but hopefully these words of wisdom from the biggest mind in rugby league will ease the pain somewhat:
"You're getting the result you deserve".
Verdict: QLD 22 to defeat NSW 20
Player of the match: Kurt Capewell
Wally Lewis Medallist: Valentine Holmes
*team line-ups are subject to change and will be updated as soon as possible.

Evening All
I can see every NSW fan celebrating the loss of Munster and Tualagi, for me the game is still a danger. QLD always go down fighting and the Blue's will need to play as good as they did in Perth or better to ensure QLD don't catch us with our pants down.
Don't forget the crowd will probably be around 90% QLD supporters, the referee probably wearing a maroons jumper, socks and undies too.
Should be a great game but I would hate to see NSW go in thinking they only have to turn up to win. Hope everyone enjoys the match, should be a great game.
NSW 26, QLD 18

I know QLD has lost a couple to Covid but just have a look what the baby Broncs with a heap out did to the Dragons on the weekend. Thats the QLD spirit. Suncorp brings it out and it will be there tomorrow night.
Every one loves Billy Slater...it will be done for him.
QLD 18....NSW 13

I just want it too be a fair game
no controversy i heard in they radio they aren't really playing origin it is too precious the way they play these days everyone is too cautious of getting penalties or giving penalties away & o suppose yes they are the rules have changed but is it really for the better ...

First player to score a try please
Submitted by The Thinker on
The Blues will be super keen to get off to a flying start and try and quieten down the crowd.
I'll pick Brian To'o for first try scorer.

Hey Thinker
Getting off to a flyer will certainly help the Blues, Daniel Tupou for me for first try scorer.
Enjoy the game folks

I'll throw my hat in the ring for a Cobbo try to kick it off, then a Blue wash for the other 60 minutes.

Interesting score...Cleary to take the game out of deadlock with 2 mins to go, and QLD snag the game winning try from a brain fade?

That was in response to Mark Ashfords 18-13 prediction

Hi Thinker
I thought I better give you a wrap. Your preview was terrific but you also picked the winner and even got their score right. You just gave the Blues a few extra points, but that's because you are so polite :-)
Well done xx

Hey Ming
I wasn't too far wrong on my prediction, 18 to 13 in QLD favour became 22 to 12 QLD. Very quiet you Blues supporters. Like Fittler and Johns your faces are so dissapointed and devastated. Never mind there is always next year when you will have to go through it again.
