Confirmed Tipsters for 2023
Those of you that participated throughout season 2022 are welcome to return. You don't have to let me know you wish to play again this year, but if you want to say hello, ask a question or say anything else feel free to say so in the comments section. If your tipster name appears in the table to the right (2022 tipping competition final results) then you are already registered for season 2023.

Newcomers
Note: entries to the 2023 season tipping competition are now closed. This allows my little helper to get all the hamsters lined up in the exercise wheels before the NRL season starts next Thursday. I will create a list of our new tipsters for this season. I note that quite a lot of people have created accounts on the site but haven't asked to be added to the tipping comp. Some of those people could be autobots working in an underground lair for the Putin regime, but some of you could be genuine humans who thought you had done enough to be registered as a tipster. That's okay, I was a bit vague on the details. If you are one of those people (with a registered account prior to the 24th February), please add a comment on this page and I'll try and squeeze you in. There is a limit on how many hamsters I can fit in the machine though (and I don't want the RSPCA hassling me).
For those of you that have missed the opportunity to register for this season, I apologise in advance.
Questions
My loyal and obedient Little Helper has put together a page which is a handy guide to how most of this works (including creating an account, how to tip each round once you've been registered, life hacks and some dinner suggestions for busy working parents in a hurry. You can check it all out here.
Otherwise, if anyone has any questions about the competition or anything else, feel free to ask in the comments section below.
The season kicks off on Thursday 2nd March with the Parramatta Eels taking on the Melbourne Storm.
Prizes
There will be prizes for our top three tipsters and, if there's anything left in my Merchandise Mystery Box, a few random prizes throughout the season, but I'll provide more details on the prizes in the weeks ahead.
The top three also get their name etched on the Honour Board and the recognition you deserve. Last season The Voyeur held off Tigerholic by a solitary point. Tipping superstar Footy Chick has finished in the top three for five years in a row. I expect they will all be back to have another crack in 2023.

Yes, Round 1 for the season is on March 2nd with Eels/Storm being the opening game.
Must admit that the pre-season games had me wondering if I'd made a mistake, so I checked on the draw with R1 as follows:
Eels/Storm, Warriors/Knights, Panthers/Broncos, Sea Eagles/Bulldogs, Cowboys/Raiders, Sharks/Rabbitohs, Dolphins/Roosters, Tigers/Titans

I was at Alfie's Bar yesterday to watch the Superbowl, Very good setup they have there and pretty cheap pints, will have to go there to watch some of the Broncos games

Hi Mary,
Yes we got another bashing with the Cyclone peaking at 2am this morning. Not just Auckland but pretty much the whole of the North Island has been hit, and hot on the heels of the flooding two weeks ago. We haven't even come close to recovering from that weather event. It sure has been tough lately!!

I'm back to brush off a very poor rookie start to my tipping 2022. 2023 is a new year and I will make a better meal of it.
I have to say this has got to be without shadow of a doubt one of the harder tipping comps I've seen. Very very high quality of picking. Kudos to everyone here.

Hi Thinker here we go again I have been thinking myself how difficult it is for your good self to always tip early each week and wonder if we should handicap last year's winner and second place by having them also tip early of course the bloke who came second is notorious for changing his tips we would have to make him stick.

There is space but you will need to register on the website. You will find the Registration link at the top right of the screen. From there just follow the prompts. Once you have done that I can make you a tipster for this season.

Newbie’s Back Baby!
How is everyone? Did we all have a great Christmas and New Year? Fired up and ready for another season of footy? I know I am. Especially looking forward to seeing the Roosters win the 2023 Premiership 🤣.
OK, been MIA (obviously) but was popping in every now and then to read a few comments here and there but never commented myself as I was otherwise engaged in other activities (more on that below) and found it hard to find the time. Just thought I’d pop in and let you know I’m still kickin’ and that I’ll be “scaling it down” this year with comments, stats etc. I’ll still be here but not as “full on” as I used to be, if that makes sense. I think the time is right for someone else to put their hands up (looking at you Dragons-fanboy 💪).
The thing I promised ScottySeahawk (back in April last year) I “wouldn’t mention again” has made me ponder and contemplate life and the world in general, something I’ve been doing for maybe the last couple of years. I don’t want to get all philosophical but thinking about what life is really all about and what do I want to be doing for the next 30 years or so has really intensified of late.
I’m reminded about the need to slow down and live life with mindfulness and peace. I need to consider the poisonous garbage I’ve been eating and drinking. I need to get more quality sleep, more exercise and walk around without shoes on 🤣.
Crazy things are happening all over the place, if it’s not one thing, it’s another. Most, if not all, is just plain bad and it’s these sorts of things that have me re-evaluating my life. Currently I’m heading towards throwing in the job (retire early), buying a little cottage and some land out in the bush somewhere down south, growing my own food (cheaper and healthier than the chemical laden stuff from the supermarket), collecting my own rainwater, painting, writing and maybe even becoming an “elder statesman” YouTuber or something silly like that 🤪.
Dunno, just have this “urge” to get the hell away from the city. Too many people with too many problems are starting to grate on me to be honest. So too is the daily grind, peak hour traffic and the continual speed and noise of the city. I sometimes wonder how you guys in Sydney manage to get through day after day after day.
I’m not a millionaire by any stretch of the imagination but I’ve got enough to last me until "that" time comes. I don’t need or want to have the “latest and greatest” of anything. At heart I’m a simple guy with simple tastes who just happens to waffle on too long sometimes.
And for that reason I think it’s about time I exited stage-left. Or is it stage-right? Anyway, take care everyone and I’ll see Mr Ashford, Steely, Christine, Mary, Baggy, Big Pete, Esra, The Butcher, Tiger and the rest of y’all (not forgetting the Boss of course) very soon for Round 1. Cheers. 🐔🐔🐔.
