The Storm look good and keep on winning. The Rabbitohs look shoddy and keep on winning. And then there's everyone else - enigmas each and every one of them.

I learned a valuable lesson in round two. If my time machine wasn't at the dry cleaners I could travel back to last Tuesday, and that lesson would be even more valuable. Since I'm stuck in the here and now let's hope we can utilise this knowledge in the weeks ahead.

One round down and the NRL ladder looks upside-down to me. No doubt some of these sides will turn their exposed form on its head in round two. Oh rugby league - you unpredictable beast you.

Season predictions

Here we go again! New rosters, new coaches, new controversies, and new hope for footy fans everywhere. I've cast my one good eye over each and every team and I've cobbled together what I think the NRL ladder might look like at season's end. If I'm even remotely close it will be nothing short of miraculous, but it's worth a read nonetheless.
