It doesn't matter what country they come from drugs are drugs & it isn't in the rules they are allowed to have them that's all there is too it & baggy gee you should be happy it wasn't a Parramatta player that did it ...

LOL Pabdul. Now that was a good one.
Now this is where Todd needs to stand up and do something, independent random testing. A solid group of trustworthy people who just show up to training sessions, gym sessions, game day, take blood, urine, hair, test it and if you dumb enough to stuff up there is the door. Zero tolerance, maximum enforcement. Obviously they would be only drug enforcement, behaviour is still in the purview of the clubs. If any body on that team is a member or has a club that they support they aren't allowed to test that playing group, the testers know who's sample is whose, but the lab only gets player 1, 2 etc. Same as the punch, it was rubbed out inside a few weeks, slapping will be the same very soon, (bloody K. Edwards). Todd, I can and will head up the team if you want.

Christine, I don't give a Flying Fornication, we want the game to survive, and each time this comes up is another nail in the coffin. We need people who are passionate about the game to look after the game. Todd is one such person, but we need to have a central book keeping staff to monitor salary cap, third parties and all that, we need a drug testing team to kick the mugs out of the game. How many guys do you know who would kill for a chance to even be thought of for first grade? And in relation to Parra, as much as I like Corey, he should be on his last chance, gone next time.

The only good drug story was Danny Wicks. He came back from it, played like a champ and proved that a man's past doesn't determine his future. But there has to be a deterrent and maybe an auto 2 year ban is a good place to start. But there has to be no loop holes, otherwise it becomes a bad system, remember hard cases make for bad laws.

Baggy gee I agree with you they need to clean things up that's all I 'm saying nothing else i'm not disagreeing with you okay ...

How much of this would go on if the NRL grew a set and tore up player contracts once convicted.
A drug conviction means the end of your career. End of story.
As Baggy said there would be hundreds of RL players in lower grades desperate for a chance at the top level.
Lets not pick on the Kiwis the offences occurred in Aussie not NZ.
Watched an interview with the Sharks boss this morning, no remorse, just saying "it's unfortunate for him and family"
I guess he meant it was unfortunate he got caught.

Baggy gee The game will survive the nrl makes too much money from it not to but there are the odd one or two players that occasionally muck up & disgrace & shame there clubs & give the nrl a bad name / look ...

Hi Chris
A few players and others does not mean the NRL is rife with drug abuse.
Australia has a problem with drugs.
Apparently we are the highest users of "ice" in the world.
How shameful is that.
This beautiful country with opportunities for all makes me scratch my head and ask WHY?
WHY would you want to scramble your brains.
WHY drug away your opportunities here.
WHY drug away happy marriages and families.
WHY drug away jobs and house purchases.
I don't know the answer, does anyone?

Ice is the worst drug of all anyone who uses it should be in jail for life

Mark & everyone else that's reading this I know we have a drug problem in this country but as you said mark if they started tear up a few contracts & de registering the players that do the wrong thing then how fast do you think it would stop , I'm not saying it's a New Zealand thing it is a problem every where but too fix it they have to get it right once & for all in my opinion & that's all I'm saying ...

Thinker what is your opinion on the whole bromwich proctor situation if you don't mind me asking your view on punishment as do you think the nrl has taken a hard enough stance on this???
Submitted by Christine on
Mark before you say that I just read that another cronulla junior got caught with cocaine on Sunday he is 20 yrs old so that's now five in 72 hours...

Drugs should be banned
Submitted by Baggy_Gee on
Nrl has done nothing in relation to Bromwich and Proctor, it was NZRL and the clubs who have imposed sanctions, nothing has come down from those responsible for running the game. Gone for two years and then let them back in if they are good enough.
Submitted by christine on
I have to stick by my opinion these nrl players are role models to thousands of kids & tweens or teens & it's a really bad look they no they are in the public eye & they are constantly watched for there actions they knew it when they signed a contract when they started playing & they can't just blame it on a collapse of judgement from concussion from to many knocks to the head , shame on them for there poor judgement in doing so ...
Submitted by a on
Yeah these NRL should be good role models any one who does match fixing sexual assault drugs should be banned for life
Submitted by christine on
Again were is the consistency in this great game of ours , there isn't any that's what is ruining this game & shame on the nrl for not doing more about it ...
