Yr on Chris - Chris it is.
Saves me some keystrokes as well......hahahahaha.

Hope you had a nice day.

BigPeteBx's picture

RLWC has been entertaining to date 'a'.
The Islanders and PNG's scores will lower themselves, as they approach some stiffer opposition. It is for PNG Kumuls, boot on the other foot after NRL Grand Final day. Good on them, as they are entertainers and love it.

Cheers mate

BigPeteBx's picture

Now TAD that's a comp I can get behind.

a's picture

Sounds like a good comp TAD I can't wait for the thinker to create the page

From Mary S (for now- Annon!!!)
Hi TAD, comp + name sounds great.

I have checked the 'ramblings' on a regular basis, but due to the frustrating 'glitch' still experienced with signing on, have not posted often. I am looking forward to TLH being able to find a solution to the problem when he can.

Looks like some Roosters feathers will be ruffled!!
Cheers to all,
Mary

The Annoying Devil's picture

Moylan to the sharks
Maloney to the panthers
Green to the warriors
Pearce to manly
JFK blown away
What do I have to say

a's picture

I don't think any club should sign Hayne Titans got rid of Henry for him and now he still not happy no one should sign him

BigPeteBx's picture

Agree there 'a' about your 3.11 post on Hayne.
Saw some print, where Eels might be trying to bring him "home".
NBL - where've been on the losing end, both team both rounds.

Cheers and have a nice week.
Keep well
Big Pete

a's picture

Yes we have been

mark ashford's picture

Hi TAD
Interesting swap Moylen for Maloney.
Moylen at 26 may have his best footy in front of him and Maloney at 31 may just be the opposite.
Maloney has developed into a grubby player whereas Moylen is the opposite.
Sharks can be a grubby team and Penrith play a pretty clean game.
I can see Gal saying "Matt you have to push their faces in the dirt, you know give them a facial or pull their legs" and Hook saying "stop pushing their faces in etc"
Oh how will it all end.

The Annoying Devil's picture

Hi mark
My bold prediction for next season is Penrith get fined for time wasting before taking shots at goal
Maloney and Cleary will be playing paper rock scissors to see who takes the conversation

BigPeteBx's picture

Howdy Mark A
Don't if you are aware, but I noticed tonight on an email notification, I sometimes receive that Frontier Touring have Bryan Adams back in Australia in 2018, performing his first ever Bribie Island and Gold Coast shows plus two, a day on the green winery shows in Victoria.

Adams’ tour will begin with a show at Bribie Island’s Sandstone Point Hotel on Tuesday 9 January before playing Gold Coast’s Convention Centre on Wednesday 10 January.

FYI mate, in case u r interested. C'mon c'mon lets get together ....humming mate.

Cheers
Big Pete

Christine 's picture

Mark moylen to sharks means moylen will become a dirty player because he will learn from gallen to become one in true sharks culture in fact the only sharks player I give any credit to is feki ...

christine 's picture

TAD My bold prediction is knights are in for a much better season in 2018 & will be a challenge for other teams when it comes time for finals ...

christine 's picture

Baggy gee Do Parramatta fans really want jarryd hayne back ???

a's picture

Did anyone watch the Melbourne Cup today

mark ashford's picture

Hi "a"
Yes watched the cup and all preceding races at my sisters house.
It's a family thing and 7 of us have $2 each way on our picks.
I picked "rekindling" the day before and won a $ or 2.
First time in 30 years I have picked the winner. Hope it's not another 30 years before I do it again!

mark ashford's picture

Big Pete
I'm a Bee Gees, Simon & Garfunkel, Easy Beats, AC/DC, Doors, Hendrix,
Deep Purple, Gunners, and so on. I started soft but grew into some nice metal. Even as I get older I still enjoy it. What about the Masters Apprentices, great aussie band. Watched then live many times.
George Young and Stevie Wright have been Aussie icons writing some of our best songs.
What am I getting at??
Who the f--k is Bryan Adams?
Is he an Aussie and if so should I go to see him at Sandstone?

BigPeteBx's picture

Sorry Mark if it didn't ring any bells with you.
I was hummin with Bryan Ferry. But I had a look at Bryan Adams' profile and seems to have been around and made a few hits. He's Canadian.
If you don't know of him - better go fishing at Sandstone, but not beyond our Curtain, as it would be too far for you to travel to.

The bands you mention are around my era also. Throw in Slade & Sweet as well.
Stevie Wright was a legend. Worked here in Bx for a time, whilst he was on rehab. Dead now and buried in Moruya on Sth Coast of NSW.

Cheers M A
Big Pete

a's picture

Yeah I had horses 4 and 23 witch came 7th and 14th repesently hopefully I get a winner next year

christine 's picture

Mark Given all the bands you mentioned which are also from my era no stay away from bryan adams it's certainly not your liking at all ...

a's picture

Yes stay away from Bryan Adams he doesn't seem like your kind of music

The Annoying Devil's picture

I’m sure if mark hears Bryan Adams songs he’d know them
I love sweet and Slade
Stevie wright was awesome the question is what part of Evie was the best I’ll go with part 2 still brings a tear to the eye

BigPeteBx's picture

Hello Mark,
Given that most voices have spoken and the fact I haven't heard his music.
I did seem to recall Bribie Island rang a bell and thought it might be worth checking out, beforehand.
B. Adams was born in 1959, so if my memory recalls, that puts him in our bracket by y.o.b. range - pre 1960.

Cheers all
Big Pete

Baggy_Gee's picture

No Christine, I don't want him back. Again it is about the future and the detrimental effect it will have on some of our younger players. French and Auva'a as the wingers, Takairangi and Jennings as the Centers, Gutherson at fullback, thats a good back line with a blend of youth and age, needs to get Jennings coaching up the next centre to take over from him. Norman and Moses as the halves, and the forwards are all young guns who need to see more field time and less bench as Mannah becomes a bench and "coach" of the new forwards. There is nowhere in the system for Hayne even if he was lighting up the RL world and scoring a hat trick every game. It is an emotional "Come Home Lassie" moment that hopefully will pass without Lassie coming home. Maybe as a back coach I'd welcome him home.

a's picture

Yes Hayne should be playing reserve grade

christine 's picture

"a" Hayne should just disappear like he never exsisted , eels are doing fine to get to finals without him so why upset what already works ...

a's picture

Yeah Hayne is a sook

The Annoying Devil's picture

My mate and I had a few drinks talking about growing up in the 70s
This is some of our memories
Collecting and swapping footy cards
20 cents of mixed lollies
Drinks had ring pulls
Doing walking the dog with your yo-yo
Dunlop volley shoes
Dialing 199 to make your phone ring
Ringing up to hear what time it was...on the third stroke
Owning a dragster or chopper
Knowing two all beef pattie special sauce etc off by heart
Not thinking it strange that fonzie hung out with school kids in the toilets
Tv ending with god save the queen and a test pattern
Countdown and sounds unlimited
Totem tennis
Wallpaper
Bowl haircuts
Milk bars
Cassette players
Records
The list goes on
Anyone else ?

The Annoying Devil's picture

Just heard Roosters are getting rid of Blake Ferguson and it looks like he’s heading to the Dragons

Mary S's picture

Hi TAD,
I go back a bit further than that but your list certainly stirred some memories!!!!
I will add -
Card games with cards
Milk in bottles
School milk
Television introduced
In the country - 100 foot antennas to get TV reception (if you were lucky)
Horse & wagon delivering fruit and vegetable (country again)
Talking with your friends (the art of conversation)
Vinyl records
Record player
Making your own jam, cakes, biscuits, preserved fruit, icecream
Visit town monthly
Bags (hessian) of flour
Driving a tractor
Houses and cars left unlocked
Brandy (the game not the drink)
Hopscotch
Double Dutch (skipping rope game)
Vigaro (game similar to cricket in some respects - different style of bat)
Kerosene fridges
Canvas water bags
Spider drinks (icecream with coke or fanta)
As TAD said - the list goes on!!

I seem to be myself again and not Annonymous
Cheers everyone
Mary

TAD & Mary
That bought back some memories.
I grew up in 50's west Brisbane (Grovely) which has now been changed to Ferny Grove (so I believe)
We had a weekly green grocers truck who sold fruit & veg and a daily fresh bread delivery.
Milk was also delivered in bottles with a centimeter of cream on top under an aluminum seal.
The bread smelled incredible and my brother and I would fight over the cream top.
After doing many chores a real treat was a vanilla milkshake from the local milk bar. I think it cost 1 shilling (todays 10 cents)
No houses had front fences and friendly dogs roamed freely.
Most houses had 3 to 10 kids and we played happily on the street or in someone's yard.
Doors weren't locked and kids weren't afraid of strangers.
No one stole from their neighbours and Christmas was just amazing.
We have come a long way since then.
No one knows their neighbours.
Kids aren't allowed outside their fences.
Bread & milk only comes from a supermarket.
Dogs must be on a lead.
AND there's no more cream on top of the milk.
All the milk bars are gone, replaced by Maccas.
I thank God for my memories.

Just to update everyone : I now know my first infusion for treatment will be 31st jan 2018 & the second infusion will be 14th feb 2018 & anything more I will find out then providing I don't have a reaction to the first lot of treatment depends on me having the second infusion because if there is a reaction to the treatment they cease all treatment straight away ...

christine 's picture

Nate miles has retired aged 32 ...

Mary S's picture

Thanks for the update Christine - we will be hoping your reaction to the 1st treatment is a positive one, and beneficial in bringing you additional relief from your illness.
