I don't often steal the microphone from The Thinker but as it has been a year of upsets, I thought I'd create one more and post something by myself.

Week three - finals

There aren't many of us that can say we were there to see the last final between the Bunnies and the Chooks - what with it pre-dating World War II. The wait is almost over.

Finals - week two

The unpredictable nature of NRL football has left us with (in my opinion) a somewhat lopsided draw with the three best teams on the one side of the ledger. Although I'm slightly disappointed by that, we do get one heck of a game this weekend.

Eight teams remain, and it would be hard to argue that these aren't the sides that deserve to be there.

So here we are - the final round of the 2014 season. We've laughed, we've cried, we've wondered what the officials were thinking, and we've all started hating Michael Ennis again. Some things never change...or...they quickly change then quickly change back.

I'm getting ahead of myself but I'm a little excited about round 26 already. To help me focus I've found my rolled-gold bet of the season this weekend. To misquote the blackboard from Mr Squiggle - Hurrell up!

168 games down and not very many to go, and I've just noticed we haven't had a draw all season. I've also noticed that I need to get five perfect rounds (from the three remaining) to catch Wally Lewis. Come on Thinker...it's time for the Hail Mary play.
