Ha-Ha! Didn’t think Missy would be your “cup of tea” Markus but kudos on enduring it as long as you did. Much respect 💪. Not really surprised by the reaction from Mr Ashford and Steely as well. As Markus mentioned … “different strokes for different folks” which is what we want/need in life. No offence taken fellas, it’s all good and it’s great that we know each other (sorta) well enough to be able to say such things without getting too fussed over it 👍.
Funny thing about that song Markus put up Wednesday … I started singing it today after lunch. Not sure why or what brought it on though. Took about an hour for me to get it out of my head 🤓.

Yeah, I think you’re right Christine. It does indeed look like Latrell’s dug himself a bit of a hole. Too many friends, family and hangers’ on getting in his ear. Hopefully he’s gonna learn a valuable “life lesson” after this. Then again, some people never manage to “get it”.
Not sure if the Titans will drastically lower their offer though. Anything under 800K per season and he may as well play at the Bears 😉.
The eventual outcome of all this will be most interesting for sure.
P.S. Latrell – if you’re reading this, I have a message for you brother …. ditch the negative people that are feeding off you mate and do it quick! You can thank me later 💪.

Thanks for the footrot link. I now remember Wal's Mother or Aunt where "the dog" was born gave him some poncy name which was never revealed. I remember the dog censored Murray's books whenever it became close to revealing his name. Gave me lots of pleasure and heaps of laughs all those years ago. The dog hated Macrocarpa trees being cut down, maybe Murray Ball was before his time. Thanks for the memories all.

As it appears Tigers & Cowboys are no longer interested in Latrelle, then
if I was him I would start to worry. As Newbie has said he has been getting some poor advise from either his agent or other, perhaps, selfish advisors. If the Titans pursue him then the offer should be vastly reduced. As everyone seems to know (except Latrelle) he has a habit of putting in only when it suits him. The young man certainly has talent but how do you keep it switched on for an entire season. Perhaps his agent should ban him from contact with Anthony Mundine who seems to be angry with everything in this country.

Latrelle Mitchell floating around like a gamefish waiting for someone to hook him and who knows what other players under contract or not are looking for deals. Time for the NRL to step in and say " if you have signed a contract you have to honour it" Try signing a contract to buy a house in Western Sydney and then saying NO I'd rather live in Bondi. The Lawyers would eat you alive if you we're able to escape from the West with your life.

I hate typing on my mobile predictive text my ass it changes what i type & yes newbie killing my immunity means killing my ms which i don't understand how my.ms can be in my immunity theybsay don't donate blood because we don't know if ms is in your blood or not sp we justvsay don't donate incase it is there is no blood test for ms but even so they kill off my immunity only on that one particular subset which is called subset 19 it is a b cell but then the ms comes back so you are constantly fighting against your own body there is no cure for ms it isn't possible but thry are calling this drug they are giving me as an infusion a game changer for ms , my next infusion is on wednesday i will be there 6 hours on a drip then i don't go for 6 months maybe if they gave it to you sooner in that timevit might have more affect but i am no expert i havecto do what they say...

OK, by “special request” (looking at you Mr Ashford) I’m gonna put up something this week from an Aussie band. Just hope it gets the tick of approval from you-know-who 😁 Keep in mind I’ll only put up stuff that I “rate”. Don’t forget we all have different tastes and so on but hey, you guys know that already (ha-ha).
Back in the day I thought this song was just so freakin’ cool. Guess what? I still do 😍. I also wished I could look as hip as they did (especially the lead singer) but alas, it wasn’t meant to be. Janie's got a gun is the exact song that got me into Aerosmith! When my Mum would take Dad to work in the very early hours of the morning, I would put my 'Pump' cassette in Dad's very expensive, very loud stereo and BLAST that song on 10! I tell ya, when everything is whisper quiet and it's still dark outside, that intro got me every time haha.
Not into rap, really at all, but... that would be an exception. Thanks for the share DJ A. You know, and I feel more respect lost from my rock brothers here (My SOTW won't help my cause either!) but I actually don't mind Eminem's 'Sing for the Moment'. I think, this little group we have here on The Thinker Dot Org is one where we don't have to concern ourselves with how our own thoughts, feelings or tastes might 'offend' someone. The world has gone mad! People left and right, front and center are taking offence to the smallest of things... In here, I feel we can be ourselves without fear of persecution simply because what we have presented doesn't fit with the majorities taste, thought or feeling. It's bloody refreshing! The participants to this forum prove it's possible to be civilized without going over the top with political correctness and the like and I feel truly blessed to be a part of it all. And it's a bit controversial.
I'm not a Rugby Union fan but have watched with some interest the Israel Falou situation unfold over the past months.
Whether you agree with him or not Israel has twitted some dangerous comments about various sectors of our community. He is a preacher of his local church and surely entitled to his beliefs.
Now we come to Rayleen whatever the boss of ARU who sacks him because of these comments. Here we are today where Rayleen has agreed to a settlement (somewhere between 4 and 8 million) and also offered an apology to Israel.
Rayleen was at the helm of the NZ Ferns a few years ago and was lured to AUS to manage the Bulldogs. Under her watch and Dessie Hasler, unbelievable back ended contracts nearly bankrupted the Dogs. She sneaked away from the Dogs in their trouble and is now running ARU.
Make your own decisions but I think it's time this woman was gone from Aussie sports.

Geez, if not having internet recently wasn’t bad enough, now I’ve got the dreaded “white screen” thing happening. I reckon it’s the ribbon where the back hinges are on my laptop that’s come loose/unseated but I’ve “borrowed” another monitor from work (hell it’s huge) and everything’s tickety-boo. Still need to get the ribbon reseated but that’s a job for Monday.
Markus, “Janie's Got a Gun” is about the only song I like from Aerosmith actually. There might be others but I’d have to check. Maybe someone could mention a few? But yeah, JGAG is a classic in my book. Love it a lot.

Jimmy Barnes annoys me so much for one reason and one reason only. And it’s because he “SCREAMS” and his delivery just gets me angry for some unknown reason. I know he’s popular and for good reason but he just rubs me up the wrong way. It’s so bad that in the morning while doing my usual ablutions if I hear him come on the radio I’ll immediately stop what I’m doing and go into the lounge room and change stations. It’s that bad 🤬. I have a mate who absolutely loves him but hates John Farnham in much the same way that I hate Jimmy. I don’t mind John Farnham actually so with Jimmy and Johnny, me and my mate are the complete opposite. Ah, ya gotta love life eh?
Now onto Midnight Oil. In the beginning I thought they were an OK sort of band but didn’t like the way Peter Garrett moved and danced in that over exaggerated contorted style that he had. But I tolerated that. He was standing up for the little guys and for “causes” so that was alright. Then Pete ran for parliament and got in. “Here we go” I thought. What happened? Basically nothing. He (in my opinion) became part of the problem he rallied against when he was younger. He got in and sold us out. I’ll never forgive him for that. As a sign of protest I’ve “black banned” MO completely. If a MO song comes on the radio while I’m driving, guess what I do? Yeah, that’s right, I switch stations. Sorry Pete, you’ve done your dash with me.
See, no weird reason, just it takes a long time to explain it is all. But hey, the footy’s not started yet and you’re bored right? The only bad thing about watching this video is that I actually used to dress like some of those people on the dance floor 😱. Yikes! Newbie, MO for me, like Mark, is too darn political for my lyrical tastes. I'm not a fan of Pete's singing (or dancing for that matter) either but think the music is really well put together. Ah yes, I guess I'm not a huge Barnesy fan either due to his tendency to get a little shouty. Though I have a song I would like to share that will hopefully make you laugh out loud rather than get angry haha. First, apologies to anyone who actually likes this song or Jimmy's role in it. This song is just really, really bad!! I can't even know where to start because every element in this song is just so awful!! Yes, that is certainly SB in the clip dancing his shirtless abs off haha. Many teenage boys, myself included, lusted over the blonde lead singer, however, it turns out she was never the lead vocalist at all. The Aussie music powers that be at the time felt that the back up singer and dancer in the group (in her 20's) was a much better look than the very talented (in her 40's) actual singer.

Just to updste on my treatment for my ms sorry guys it isn't killing my ms by killing my immunity i was told the wrong information but what it is doing is lieasons attach to my b cell & my treatment called ocrevus is killing the lieasons which is keeping me stable because there is no cure for ms but they now think i might have a different type of ms it is the same as they thought just more advanced so instead of primary progression it is secondary progression it is the same type just more advanced so further along the decline side of the illness ...

Can't agree enough about Barnsey's screaming. It annoyed me and put me off completely until "breakfast at sweethearts" apparently he lived in the Cross above a café called "sweethearts" and went regularly there for brekky to ease his hangovers. Also Khe Sahn hit a note as I was in the conscription draft for Vietnam. ( I was rejected as I had a bung right eye. Was absolutely devastated as I wanted to go. As an 18 year old Aussie I had no idea of the horrors of Vietnam)
I've been a great fan of Barnsey's collaboration with The Badloves on the USA "The Band" song "The Weight" I've often listened to both and give the Badloves a tick above our USA friends.
Being a grey hair I'm not sure how to attach a link to this post, but if you google Jimmy Barnes & The Badloves The Weight you will enjoy a classic song.
As for the Midnight boys...Garret danced as if he was afflicted by St Vitas Dance and then went to the Labor Party (perhaps the Greens may have suited him better) but sang at our Olympics about "Giving it back" while living in a harbour front mansion. I wonder if he gave that back.

Last week’s predictions netted 3 from 4 which is sorta OK. Funny thing with the EPL was that Round 15 started on the 3rd Dec and Round 16 is starting on the 7th Dec (tomorrow). Newbie TBH I need a few more listen to this song but I think it’s okay for now
NuL1F3 Im actually with Newbie on Eminem he’s not bad at all I actually listen to him sometimes in my free time and the song is pretty good to
As for your other song well the beat is pretty good but OMG I fricken hate that voice so I sorry I can’t give you a pass because of it
As for you Butcher yes As I said before I think I going to give you the BOTW absolutely fantastic song and Stevie Wonder is a legend
Steel Panther Yeah I quite like your song to it’s not the best of the group but it’s fine for what it is
TBH I’m not a fan of Jimmy ever the screaming is a huge problem for me
As for Midnight Oil I actually quite like there music
But hey you like what you like Me personally don’t have a favourite genre I honestly quite happy listen to any genre to a certain extent it even know I can be quite picky at times
But hey I’m enjoying this series on here and hopefully we can continue it every week

Good evening Mark, I found this song watching Jimmy Fallon's 'Do Not Play' segment on the tonight show, his reaction was SOOO good but of course Australia had a cry about making fun of a 'national icon' and the clip has been erased from the internet (I didn't think that was even possible!)
I thought the exact same thing re: brokeback mountain, either that or it has to be taking the piss.. surely?! haha

Geez, you sucked me into that Barnesy video eh? Thought you might’ve been fibbing just a bit on how bad it was and so on but seems you were on the money. One of the music genres I dislike is “country”. Apologies to any country music lovers out there but me and country don’t get on. We’re not friends. Never have been and never will be. Meh, that’s life. OMG, got to the part where “Jimmy’s scream shouldn’t upset you” and bam! There it was 💥. Reckon I lasted all of about 15 seconds of Jimmy screaming before I hit the stop button. Nah, he does my head in 😣.
Now as far as the Aussie version and the European version of “Love You Right” goes, I much prefer the European version with the ever so sultry older lady singing.
Mate, I can’t make rules on “covers” obviously, I’m no-one special. But if you wanted my opinion well then I would have to say that as long as it’s an Aussie band then covers should be OK wouldn’t you think? Mr Ashford just wanted to see some Aussie bands (or artists?) so probably wouldn’t matter what they were singing. Just my 2c worth. I wouldn’t hesitate putting covers up if that’s any help 💪.

Mr Ashford, I know you said you saw it on the news but I can’t seem to find anything on the interwebs that reports Latrell is staying at the Roosters. I’ll keep looking as no doubt the story will surface sooner or later. Thanks for keeping me posted though. Appreciate it brother 👍.
I wouldn’t be too concerned with whether they can still afford him though. I doubt very much they’d do a backflip and give him a million a year. Then there’s also “that promise” that if he stayed he’d be playing for the Bears so I just don’t know. Looking forward to seeing how this pans out…

P.S. A lot cooler today and it actually rained early in the day for about 10 minutes! Forecast has been amended (as all good weather forecasters do) and Sun looks like about 25 and gradually getting hotter through the week working its way up to 38 for next Fri and Sat. Better than the 43 they predicted earlier 😃

It’s not Latrell but family and media influences that’s creating speculation on his future
He’s a special player who has played for his state and country won 2 premierships and was last years leading point scorer and he out scored oppositions with his personal tally on numerous occasions and he’s only 22 and I guess that’s what people tend to forget
If no one is irreplaceable he’s pretty close to it.
He said he only wants to play till 30 and wants what’s best for his family
It’s only because he’s so good it’s getting so much media attention
I’ve been a roosters member for many years and the mail I’m getting is that Souths are a big contender as they have money from Burgess Sutton and are just waiting to see if Jai Arrow commits and Cody Walker to decide his future and his father being a passionate rabbits man has got into his ear as well
There is a chance he may stay at the Roosters but what I can tell you if he does stay with the premiers he will be in the top grade despite what your hearing

I heard from a fairly informed source that he tied up with the Storm as a replacement for their back line losses. I feel for who ever signed him on big coin, until he gets in his head to work, not just coast on talent, he's not worth it.
