Brisbane Broncos vs Gold Coast Titans – Friday night – Suncorp Stadium
Of the four favoured finalists this weekend, the Broncos are the shortest, and it's no surprise. During their five match winning streak the Broncos have scored 120 points while conceding just 64. No team has scored more than 16 points against them since they reversed their form, a very notable statistic given they went through a period where they were leaking points everywhere. Meanwhile the Titans have scored more than 20 points in the last six weeks only once. That was against the Knights, and even then they only scored 26. The Dragons and Bulldogs scored more points than that against the Knights, and their attacks have been spluttering along for months. What makes things even more dire for the Titans is their record at Suncorp Stadium - three wins from 19 games. In their early years the Titans gave us some outstanding performances at Suncorp in the SEQ derby, but this venue has offered them little in recent seasons. No one earns a finals victory easily, and the Broncos will need to earn this, but they'll earn it.
Verdict – Broncos by 8

Canberra Raiders vs Cronulla Sharks – Saturday night – GIO Stadium
I voiced my concerns about the injury to Blake Austin and the potential impact on the Raiders prospects, but they've proven me wrong, and not for the first time. The Green Machine has racked up 96 points in two games without him, and both those wins were away from home. They were away from home in round 22 also, when they ended the Sharks 'non-losing' streak with a comfortable 30-14 victory. While everyone focused on the Sharks streak few were noticing the Raiders, who have now won 10 in a row. They are the form team in the competition...easily. Meanwhile the Sharks have fallen over, with just one victory since round 20, and that was against the team that finished second last. Rain is forecast for Canberra on Friday, and if the grim weather is a day late the Sharks might be able to grind out an ugly win through their ugly forwards. No-one outside of the Shire wants that. A win for the Raiders is a win for rugby league. Bring on the good weather and the free-flowing football. The ball will sing. The vikings will clap. The Thinker will think happy thoughts.
Verdict – Raiders by 14
Result - Sharks 16 defeated Raiders 14
Melbourne Storm vs North Queensland Cowboys – Saturday night – AAMI Park
Winning successive premierships isn't easy, and if the Cowboys manage to achieve that feat they'll be doing it the hard way. Not every team plays every other team twice during the season. The Cowboys have played the Storm twice, the Sharks twice and the Broncos twice. The only team in the top five they didn't play twice was the Raiders...and they played them in Canberra. They also only got to play the Knights once. Despite all that, they still find themselves in the top four and in pretty good shape. Their first obstacle may be the most difficult. As mentioned earlier, they've played the Storm twice already, for two losses. Their last meeting was in round 21 where they lost 16-8. That game did include one notable omission...Jonathan Thurston. Tonsils willing, Thurston plays on Saturday night. Rugby league is a team game but the Cowboys are a much better team when he's there. Those hoping for a repeat of the 2015 grand final need the Cowboys to win this - a loss and they take on the winner of the Broncos/Titans match. The Broncos and Raiders have proven that the Storm are fallible. Winterstein may need some help competing with Vunivalu under the high ball, but I'm with the visitors in a minor upset.
Verdict – Cowboys by 4
Result - Storm 16 defeated Cowboys10
Penrith Panthers vs Canterbury Bulldogs – Sunday afternoon – Allianz Stadium
The Panthers are in a rich vein of form, while the Bulldogs look like a gold mine that was abandoned in the 1930s. I still have a lingering doubt about the Panthers against the very good sides - note that they've played top four sides on six occasions this season and they haven't won any of them. Lucky for them the Bulldogs are not a top four side. Not even close. The Bulldogs have managed just 97 points in attack in their last seven games. During that same period the Panthers have scored 218. I'm stunned that the Panthers are $1.50 to win this. Stunned...gamble responsibly.
Verdict – Panthers by 22
Result - Panthers 28 defeated Bulldogs 12

AFL finals are also in all parts of the country too, well, apart from Qld that is. Nonetheless, there's nothing more important to any interstate Club, it's players ,and fans to make it to the G in October.
This isn't about sharing equal portioms of cake around the birthday table. Not about passing the deal to the next t player at the card table.

You got off Wighton's, and fair enough. Hard done by to get done for a shoulder charge pushing someone over with your forearms. Doesn't sound judiciarily possible. (No I couldn't find that word in the dictionary - probably too hard to pronounce).
So you got from that one, but I remember this one which didn't get a charge, didn't warrant a penalty on the field. Some would say just a good hard tackle, but in this Alex McKinnon world we play in, there was forceful contact shoulder to head, and that you must understand was the bigger farce, not the one from last week.

This is NRL Qld fool... not Origin. 33% "NSW representation"? Same number of QLD sides if you work it out before guffing incorrect stats. Your calculator born in Qld too? 3 sydney sides, 3 qld sides and 2 other states.... well state and territory. Hello everyone, my tips for Finals week 1 are:
Broncos by 14- The Broncos to knock the Titans out in fine fashion.
Raiders by 10- I think that the Raiders will be too good for the Sharks in this one. The raiders have been in great form, and will be too good at home here.
Storm by 2- This is going to be some game, I think the Storm are going to one this one I an absolute thriller.
And finally... the Panthers by 8- The panthers just have way too much better attack than the Bulldogs at the moment, but, it's finals footy and anything can happen in finals footy, in saying that, the Bulldogs' attack will improve, but Panthers will prevail to knock the Bulldogs out.

Yeah hey there everybody ! I heard that you missed me so I'm back ! Let's get into this week's tips for the first week of the NRL finals in 2016. Good luck everybody with your picks ! Yeah ! Let's do this :
Titans - Now that I'm back I want to be first to congratulate Channel Nine on their new romance. Sorry I know TV Stations don't date but still with everything we've seen this season you would have assume that they were dating Brisbane Broncos ass considering how much they been kissing it all year ! Seriously every single week this season, every Friday night, who's playing ? Broncos ! Dude it is ridiculous ! I am for one really sick of seeing it, so maybe then it's just out of pure frustration more than anything why I think this but I just have this feeling that they're going get beaten this week by Titans especially if they play same way that did against Roosters last week. Again could be totally wrong about this and cool, I most probably am but for me personally I'm going with Titans to win this game in low scoring, high intensity contest. Titans by four points.
Raiders - As much as I want to see premiership drought Sharks win competiton this year for the extact same reasons why every election after viewing my choices I always end up voting for "Giant Asteroid" candidate (Just end it already will you ?), I'm still going with Raiders in this one as I think they still have enough strike power out wide and enough defence in their centres to completely dominate this game similar to what Storm did to them last week. Also speaking about Giant Asteroids I look forward to seeing Cronulla Sharks win their first premiership when they play first NRL final in space in 2133 AD. Raiders by ten points.
Storm - I know Father's Day was last week but has anybody heard that Dad joke about three Cowboys around a camp fire ? There is these three Cowboys around a camp fire and they are all arguing between themselves about who is the toughest, roughest, hombre out of all of them ! First one says he's meanest because he rode into town shot twenty armed men, robbed a bank and rode out of town shooting another twenty armed men but not before hanging Sheriff in front of his wife and kids. The second one says no, he's meanest because he managed to rob a train by himself filled with a hundred Union army solders using nothing but three sticks of dynamite and gun that only had six bullets, two of them blank. Meanwhile the third cowboy is sitting there quietly listening to all this slowly turning the camp fire up with his dick. That third cowboy is Cameron Smith. Storm by sixteen points.
Bulldogs - Enough said. I'm sorry but I don't care what anybody says. Panthers don't in my option have the points in them to win this game. Bulldogs by eighteen points.

Hey everyone hope all I good spirits for the finals my week 1 finals tips are..............
The broncos ............... The broncos to carve the titans up in this one ,the titans have done well to make it to the top 8 but I feel that the broncos will deliver the knock out blow.......................broncos by. 18
The panthers .............. The panthers are playing to form and have desire and the attack to win this one. The dogs can turn there form around but even though they will improve it won't be enough with the panthers winning a thriller ................the panthers by 7
The sharks...............I feel that the sharks will go to Canberra with a different game plan play it tight nothing fancy and defend hard,the raiders are in fine form such a tough match to pick but I believe the sharks have a point to prove and in a bobby dazzler the sharks to win .............sharks by 1
The cowboys........... another tough game to pick the storm minor premieres and the cowboys the defending premieres should be a cracker with thurston to prove the difference for mine in a high scoring affair ............. The cowboys by 8

There's the reshuffle because Hoppa says it's not a Grand Final Sunday, but I swear blind that Kerrod Holland picked up some kind of shoulder injury in the Souths game. I think the Storm will just about beat the Cowboys on Saturday and will repeat the trick in the Grand Final.
